It would be amazing if Reed was a successful coach and ended up here.
But this fantasy that some of you have that every player he coaches will be a Reed clone is ridiculous.
Also that he would be an amazing recruiter just because you would sign with him.
He might be a great recruiter but it would not just be because of his name.
Would you wager that Banda knows more about the safety position and the ability to teach than Edward Reed? I get your thought process with most guys... but he was known as being the QB of the secondary and one of the most savvy players in NFL history. That’s more than just instinct
There's no doubt that Ed Reed knows as much about the position as anybody. That doesn't mean it's going to translate well to teaching or coaching. The smartest astrophysicist in the world won't necessarily be the best science lab professor. There's a lot to be said to relating what you know to the people you're teaching or coaching. That said. it's possible that Ed Reed could be a great coach. I'm just not going to assume that because he was a great player, that he'll be a great coach.
