I'd seriously consider Ed Reed as the secondary coach (and maybe a Co-DC position, not sure on this part). Ed Reed didn't become who he is based on talent alone. Guy is smart and knows what he's doing at the position. Also, the recruitment benefit would be there as well as I'm sure most kids are fully aware of who he is. But as a HC, I'm sorry, no. All respect to Ed Reed, though.
 
I would be more than happy to bring Ed Reed on as the DB coach, but head coach? Come on now, dude just finished playing last year. Need a proven coach at this point. This isn't the NBA where Derek Fischer and Jason Kidd can come in and manage 12 personalities. This is a program where you need to know how to handle and foster the well-being and development of 100 kids, while at the same time being a flawless X's and O's coach and a PR professional. It's like comparing the shift manager at McDonalds to the CEO of McDonalds.

he didn't say he wants to be the head coach, he said he wants UM to call him regarding the position. If Ed Reed wants to talk to you about his opinions, pick up the **** phone.
 
I think it's funny how former pro bball players get to be head coaches super fast (bibby,Dfish) & football guys take forever lol. If we try n bring him in as DB coach there will be outrage cause of lack of experience
 
Someone should tell this guy that Dorsey is the QB coach not a scout. Going to get his shot at being an OC somewhere soon.
 
I think that tweet's confusing folks for how it's worded and being misinterpreted.

Seems like Ed's saying he would take a call for his input regarding the head coaching position.
