Ed Orgeron

Our fans are absolutely OBSESSED with the idea that all of our coaches have to be former UM players and/or former UM coaches. News flash - not everyone on staff needs to have ties to the program!
I get this vibe from the locals. Not sure if the people outside Miami are so entrenched in this ideology. It’s an ignorant one no less.

Every one has a favorite and no matter who gets hired or not fired there will still be contention here. Those who want to ban me realize that I will be saying told you so with the 6th failure that get hired. Whoops 5th since CIS wants to fire the current one who is the first to show improvement by failing and learning via his mistakes and admitting he made them. Not the arrogant jerk that Golden was and now has the beginning of a championship team, we are poised for greatness and about to throw it away. Yet the Sheeple here join the mob and echo each other's nonsense without analyzing success. Time will tell!

Where's the improvement? On offense? Nope that coach is gone. On defense? Nope. On special teams? Nope. In recruiting ? Nope.

Could be be an asset to the staff, most certainly.

Is there any chance that will happen? No way, for a plethora of reasons.

He's already come out and said he's not coaching in 2022. He made a ton of money and is living it up right now. I doubt he's looking for a job right now. He can sit on his @ss while making $4.25M each of the next 4 years to do nothing.

Is now on the open market, I would love for our next coach to bring him in as a position coach. I believe him and Lane Kiffin have ties, so it would be a perfect DL coach for him.
You may want to read the article in the Athletic before you entertain hiring Ed as a coach at UM. He was fired while on Dennis Erickson's staff for assault on his female companion and not much has changed. He is not going to get near UM, as he could never pass the background check.

Aren’t there some pretty serious allegations about covering up legal stuff for players and that’s part of the reason he’s out? If that’s the case, he would never even be able to step on campus.

Not just Ed, they ALL have flaws and the nitpickers will be disappointed no matter who gets picked...it would be funny if not sad.
