I know that $100K figure is out there but I wouldn't believe that. I'm willing to bet that $100K is what LSU is paying and the rest of O's salary is coming from private sources. Coach O is a revered figure in Louisiana and I wouldn't be surprised if he's head coach again at LSU. So, I could see someone paying him an extra $900K to work at LSU.

That Vanity Fair interview didn't just go over badly at Ole Miss. That interview ended the Kiffin holiday in Baton Rouge if you ask me. LSU wants to win desperately but they don't trust Kiffin. I believe the relationship is purely transactional and if he can't handle the big personalities here they'll pay him and send him on his way and I could see Coach O back in the saddle.
