Ed O out at end of season at LSU thoughts??

Anyone who's been around the block awhile knows that Coach O has his strengths - great defensive mind; knows talent; tough as nails. BUT you can't entrust the moral fiber of your football program with this guy. Not at all surprised by any of the allegations. Knew it was just a matter of time.

Listen, if Miami’s problem has never been talent then double that for LSU. They literally have the STA equivalent of the state on campus.
Ed O sleepwalked and mumbled his *** into a natty. If he was that smart of a head coach no way would he have taken that much of a downward spiral this season regardless of COVID. Any recruit would look at the rest of cfb and see what some programs did despite COVID and despite how many on here hate our entire admin and staff, we did pretty good considering am entirely new offensive staff with barely any spring practice. Now go look and LSU fresh off a natty and their record and tell me ED O is a quality HC.
LSU was going to get those recruits regardless of him and they continue to get them no matter who is driving the bus and regardless of how many wheels fall off.
The fact that mason smith and even that qb they have are still on board is mind boggling. And it also likely means that his father who is well connected has been guaranteed that nothing will happen to LSU and that Ed O will take the fall and a new staff will breath life into that program that this year has managed to make 2 blue chip qb’s look like *** cheeks on a meth hooker.

LSU and Bama and Clemson and the rest of the blue blood front runner cheaters look at ****le 9 the same way the rest of the world looks at the speed limit signs.

Anyone worried about lashes to Vandy should actually worry about lashes to LSU as OC if they clean house.

I certainly haven’t read his contract but most contracts have poison pills if the individual is found to have willfully engaged in wrong doing or was grossly negligent. And these terms are impossible to define for all contexts so after the firing comes the lawsuit and it ends with a settlement somewhere in the middle.
Sounds like a messy court battle

I see a lot of folks here downplaying Coach O. Burrow and Brady deserve a lot of credit. Both were awesome. But, that roster was stacked. You have to give Coach O credit for both recruiting and developing players. 7 guys drafted in 2018. 3 in 2019 (1 in the 1st). 14 guys drafted last year (5 in the first(!); 5 in 2nd and 3rd round). Admittedly, LSU has the administration and program to support the head coach (whoever it is), but still **** impressive.

No, NO! The board hates facts!!!!

Plus, hmm, a suspect head coach who rolls the dice on a "cutting edge" OC, while hoping for a serious upgrade in a transfer QB that meshes with that OC. Man, who does that? Oh wait.....

O is a great recruiter. he was that at USC. he just isnt a great coach overall which has been proven. well see how he does next year when he gets more of a full roster back

Make no mistake...Ed would wipe his *** with Baker...but too much baggage...
waaay too much. he's single now...

Thank you;

I’m looking at the comments & I’m like, I get y ppl r down on LSU this yr & rightfully so; but, Coach O has been recruiting his *** off, and the guy still has, currently, a 43-13 record in 4.5 yrs. lol. Dude is 4-1 in bowl games, and let’s not forget, that same “once in a generation qb” Joe Burrow was “trash” in 2018-19. He won 10 games with him prior to Brady. Brady took the offense to another level, and voila, national champions.

I think Coach O is a solid coach; but ppl won’t let him live down Ole Miss here, just like they refuse to let Mario live down FIU or Butch leaving us. Lol. It’s a scorn mentality that clouds views. We would kill for a coach to go 43-13 here in 4.5 yrs w/ 4 bowl wins, including a title. Lol.

You’re assuming he would have that record here without the infrastructure, booster network, and bags he has had. This isn’t 1990 or 2000. Miami needs coaches that can do more with less. I don’t see him as a particularly clever man. Do you?

Coaches don’t bring their prior records with them, unfortunately. Especially not hard drinking low IQ specimens like Coach O. He’ll be fine self-destructing at LSU.

Seems like every skilled player they've had opted out and now another player just opted out???

Like Coker, Ed O was a fine short-term option for LSU—but he was never intended to run the show there for the long haul. It took having a loaded-*** team with a Heisman-winning quarterback to pull off what they did last year.

Solid position coach and great recruiter—but he's not meant to run a program of that caliber.

(Point of the Coker analogy; short-term guy who won a title, which can make it tricky to part way—as Miami kept LC around about three years longer than they should've. Also, like Coker, have a hard time seeing LSU pulling the trigger one year after he won it all—and during a pandemic, no less. If players are getting a mulligan on the year, a lot of coaches will, too.)

I said we would kill for “a” coach to put up what Coach O has at LSU. I didn’t say he would do the same here; although, based upon what he did at SC as an interim & the amount of first rounders he’s recruited at both SC & LSU, it makes me wonder.

I’m just saying, the guy made continuous progress from yr 1 to yr 4, including winning a Nat’l title. It’s not like he was handed the keys to the kingdom like Coker was. He took over a sinking LSU program & helped restore it. I think if Coach O wasn’t previously tied to Miami, along w his unceremonious departure here, fans wouldn’t be on his head like this. He’s done a helluva job at LSU, and I’ll always give credit where credit is due, despite personal feelings.

truly wondering y this situation have been so lightly touched upon. I feel our boats & hoes story hit the airways dang near hourly for like 3 yrs straight
As we've said often, it's a coordinated effort to keep Miami down on all fronts, it's been an inside-outside job for going on 20years now, which is why those double agents on the inside will continue to try their best to keep butch davis and coach shannon away from this program!

All time team followed up by culture issues. Sounds familiar. Difference is the ncaa will let them do whatever they want so they won’t fall too far
