I know a lot of people are freaking out about our OL problems for good reason, but there is still no reason for us to lose anymore games until we vs an actual good team like Clemson. I still think Scaife and Campbell should be swamped, but even if they are not there are a ton of options to help the young OTs:
All in all the OTs should not be a reason for us to lose to a team in the coastal.
- Use 2 tight end sets (one each side) and chip with both tight ends. When i say chip I mean exploding off the ball and trying to knock the defender off his feet, not just a little push then run a route
- Change it up with same 2 TE formation. Sometimes 1 TE stays to block. Sometimes they both block, sometimes they fake they are going to chip and quickly explode upfield because eventually defenders are going to expect them slow off the ball and we can take advantage
- Screen passes (RB and TE screen as well after chip)
- Use more shotgun and less play action
- Go shotgun and 2 runningbacks to each side of QB for blocking or quick screen
- Delayed QB draws, let those DEs pin their ears back and run right by them going wide
All in all the OTs should not be a reason for us to lose to a team in the coastal.
