GT should have never happened but yes it was stupid to be running the ball when you could have kneeled out the game.announcer was quick to bring up GT

But, you don't have to take the knee immediately. Can burn 5-6 seconds standing and moving around in the backfield before finally taking the knee. Didn't have to run any plays. Just take 3 delayed knees. We started at UNC 40, so we had plenty of room to run a few yards backwards each play.

Against GT, yes.GT should have never happened but yes it was stupid to be running the ball when you could have kneeled out the game.

How's he going to take a blindside hit with max protection and backing up a few yards. Not like he's turning completely around and running all the way towards UNC goal line. 1st down and 2nd down could have been run exactly like the 3rd down kneel. Simple. No you can't. I would love to see this board's reaction if we ran around for 5-6 seconds three times and fumbled on a blindside hit.

It's obvious to you that guaranteeing one more UNC possession was lower risk than a running back giving up a fumble?Exactly , Jesus it’s not that hard
Could also have ran around on fourth down if you didn’t kill the whole clock on the three kneels, but i am fine with them running the ball twice first. You get too cute and end up losing like NC State did to Vandy.Exactly , Jesus it’s not that hard

We could have kneeled and taken time and been saferEarth to OP UNC would've got the ball back if he just kneeled

So, we are 100% positive now that Mensah is going to fumble taking 3 delayed knees while not being touched. But we are more comfortable running our running back into physical contact where they are trying to strip the ball? It's obvious to you that guaranteeing one more UNC possession was lower risk than a running back giving up a fumble?
It’s called delaying taking the knee and being safer with the ball. I swear some of you can’t put together some things because you can’t figure out the difference between a flathead and Phillips head screwdriverIt would have allowed another possession tho.
In that case, I think he did the right thing. He controlled the destiny and you have to side with that every time.

Seriously dudeFly1: "JUST TAKE A KNEE"
