Early Toledo Thread

You've been a good sport for two years now, so I hope Toledo has a great season. But I'll be disappointed if we don't win by 3 touchdowns

10$ says we have a passing TD.

I won't bet you cash, but I'll bet you our QB coach for your Offensive coordinator if we don't allow a passing touchdown...

"*I'm praying he takes the bet and we actually do stop their passing attack." I'll throw in a lemonade stand while I'm at it!! :)

Should win handily. I say should because it depends on how bad Rosier plays and how long he stays in the game if he is having a typical day for him

We do have a tendency to play to the level of competition, so hoping this is not a trap game.

Not at all worried about Toledo. We will do whatever we want to them on offense, and the DL will control their OL.
Only thing that keeps them around is if Diaz covers the slot with the LB like last year.
I think he would use the striker position, that being said, Derrick smith is are best man to man cover guy.

Woodside made some incredible passes last year to keep the game close early, but []__[] physically outmatch Toledo (This is not LSU) and it will be hard for Miami to lose this game.

Malik may not get better each week, but the freshmen (Brevin Jordan, Will Mallory, Lorenzo Lingard, Perry, Weldon, and Williams, OL) certainly will.

I would love to see Richt switch QBs each series but, either way...

we roll.

You are right that we are not LSU. We actually have a proven track record of having a better offense than them. Toledo has had a good defense once in that time period (2015) which is the on field difference between the 2 types of programs (and all of the recruiting advantages). In that year we knocked off ranked Arkansas and Arkansas eventually knocked off ranked LSU.

points per game NCAA rank:
2010- Toledo- 54th
2011- Toledo- 8th
2012- Toledo- 44th
2013- Toledo- 40th
2014- Toledo- 18th
2015- Toledo- 31st
2016- Toledo- 19th
2017- Toledo- 16th

Coaching has been wildly successful and consistent. Beckman- Campbell- Candle. This year will be no different. Playmakers are better at Toledo than LSU lately too. Sure some great RB'S have come out of LSU but they were still losing games 17-20... We have had NFL caliber backs as well, just with a passing attack attached. It hurts your brain to think about but it's true. Lots of the time it's with guys who aren't recruited anywhere else (Logan Woodside, Kareem Hunt, Cody Thompson). Sometimes it's with 3* guys who want playing time (Alonzo Russel, Bernard Reedy, Desmond Phillips). Toledo is a G5 recruiting genius even it's not the highest number of star recruits but finding guys right for the system. If that wasn't true we wouldn't have blown away some of that Miami blue Chip DB talent in 2017.

Having said that, the defense hasn't come along yet. Miami will be the first test in 2018. IMO we smoke Miami in special teams and everything else is strength against strength/weakness against weakness.

Your offense is better than LSU against who? You're not really comparing your competition level and schedule to LSU's, are you?
Woodside was a talented 5th yr. QB who played the game of his life against us; is he gonna suit up again? Have you all stopped allowing 200yrds rushing per game?

Yes, you have a well coached football team but y'all can't hang with us for 60 minutes. No disrespect, but we should beat your team playing vanilla ball on a bad day. That said, we'll need to do our job with a young team on the road.
