from an objective point of view, how’s your new quarterback? How is he compared to the guy you had last year?

Mitch G won the starting job and he played the first half in week 1 against VMI. He aired it out fine compared to expectations. He is more of a runner than anyone we have had in recent years. Toledo used 3% of the playbook though, so it's hard to tell if he will be good or just get the job done. We have a frosh 4 star from Tampa who was like the 25th best QB recruit in the country last year. He threw some dimes in the 4th quarter. He will redshirt most likely.

The QB is the only one that matters really but losing #1 RB isn't "just" it's your two best players

We lost our #1 RB from 2016 to 2017 as well. Kareem Hunt. So you could have said that about us last year and Swanson rushed for 1400 last year. Toledo has had a 1000 yd rusher in 17 of the past 18 seasons.
 
I like Toledo, outside of being in Ohio of course. Should be a respectable game.

Let me be the first one to say "who cares".
 
Not worried about the OL. I am worried about our defensive head coaches and their ability to handle their passing scheme.

Adjustments will be key for your coaches. Miami doesn't have much film on our QB and offense this season. I bet Toledo throws in some tricks to keep the Miami D off balance early. The 2nd half or even 2nd quarter defense will show how good of a game plan your coaches come up with.
 
Best part of this game for Miami is the fact that it's likely Toedo will talk a little trash and I fully expect everyone to pick them in the upset.
 
Last years game was an atrocity, I know we won by 22 but it was way closer than it appeared. I am expecting a COMFORTABLE win. I'd like to see some of the freshman QBs in there in the second half

Don't think you'll have a 100 yard rusher Saturday

LSU game was miserable but take away a 50 yard run and we held them to 100 yards on 40 carries...

I expect Toledo to do much worse than that

I think Swanson had like 70 yards or so against you guys last season. Toledo has 3 or 4 different backs they will use so I'd agree that we won't have a 100 yard rusher. By committee I bet we gross over 100 though. The frosh transfer from Kentucky is the real deal and looks like the next NFL back in our program.
