Early Enrollees Can Sign as Early as August 1

i like the idea,

but this is a dumb usage of what could be a good rule.

You can't sign a paper that benefits the player but pretty much does nothing for the school.

I don't see how this changes anything unless the letter is binding

What would be the procedure if the kid felt he made the wrong choice, since he didn't sign his LOI? Would be less tedious, no?

thats the issue I have always seen and especially if the coaches get fired

It is an issue but a kid should commit to a program and not a coach. I realize that they do not do this but they should understand a coach can leave or be fired.

The only time a kid should be let out of an LOI if something happens that there is no notice of (i.e. NCAA investigation after you sign).

That's just not fair. A coach is a program. If you commit to a coach with a pro-style offense and all of a sudden they bring in Urban Meyer who recruits his dual threat QB... don't you think you shoul dhave the right to leave and go somewhere that you fit in better with their scheme? I do.

So the kid transfers and sits out. Remember a kid doesn't have to sign on NSD or on early NSD. So if a kid is worried about the offense changing, he can just avoid signing an LOI. He can explain to the school that he is concerned about the coach/offensive play calling and he wants to avoid any issues. He can wait till the summer to enroll in a school (if they will hold his scholarship).

Every kid needs to take into consideration the coaching situation at a school. In addition, most coaches are gone before NSD anyway (Jim Harbaugh, Chip Kelly, Doug Marrone, Greg Schiano) if you want to go to these schools, don't sign on NSD. Wait till they make a hire or go somewhere else.

The kids that EE, that is a risk you will always take. More knowledge is known when you wait. So if you EE, transfer and sit out.
