I would wholeheartedly disagree with you and ask if your initials are JH. Right now, only going off what he showed in FSU (specifically in '23), he's better than Jaden Harris ever played in 2024.
No i meant more that there are like 5+ different DBs as backups on this team that'd still be an improvement over that team even without this guy...

What if I told you that, with the addition of Hussey, our Second Unit Defense would have probably won Cam Ward a championship in 2024? How would that make you feel?
You're likely correct. The talent in that Secondary was incredibly subpar. As much as I like Heatherman, I'm not sure he would have fared much better with the personnel we had.

That’s fair and true. But, my point was that our backups would outperform that ‘24 defense. And, Hussey is potentially a backup this upcoming year.

I currently have us at 95 schollies.

This includes
2 walk-ons- Ruskavich, Nick Thomas
2 long snappers- Booker and the new Indiana kid
Chase Smith- assuming back for 6th.

It does not include Isaiah Taylor who I believe is moving on??

So 100 with the above parameters, subtract or add from there^^^

I think there may be a thread or two here with the breakdown, but is this what any of you have that are keeping track?

Have to assume they are not kicking the brothers off that walked on. Scroggins and Craver. Thomas could stay. Long snapper? They likely have some other walkons they can’t kick to the curb.

If we have 100 ship players we are doing amazingly.

I don't have Scroggins or Carver on scholly… I'm just going by what I THOUGHT I read…So maybe some one is a little more sure about it than us.

But at 95 I'm counting, C.Smith, both LS including the incoming frosh, J.Nickle, Thomas, Ruskavich (Not the younger Scroggins or Carver) … So it would be 96 minus any of those I'm wrong about

They likely aren’t on ships but take up 2 counters towards the 105. The make up of team’s doesn’t matter, they just can’t have more than 105 players.

I actually believe a couple of them are…But fair enough, 95 counters total then.

95 is still a ton better than the golden days of 65. At one point, it was nearly impossible to get to 75 due to the counter limits per class.

LT
RG
OLB
Nickel

This really seems to be the only areas that we know are not settled right now, right?

I worry about everyone plugging McCoy in at LT listening to the CIS film review where he was saying he’s not necessarily made for LT

A lot of y’all just be talking when it comes to McCoy. He has had plenty of good moments at G, he actually grades pretty well as a run blocker. He’s inconsistent at pass blocking and y’all want to move him to LT? He also has a shorter wingspan than Okunlola. How does moving him to LT make any sense? Regardless of what position he plays, his pass blocking needs to be more consistent.

I saw on the roster that Jackson Carver is up to 6'6 250, Luka Gilbert 6'7 255 a Gavin Mueller 6'5 255. At least one of these guys can step up and give better snaps than what we got from Bauman last year.

Carver was always a long term project - he was injured this season, but hopefully is ready for spring. Gilbert was highly ranked as a recruit and was more known for blocking because of his size, but there were practice reports saying his receiving was better than expected. Mueller's highlights are insane, not sure about the competition but he has the best combination of size/speed/athleticism.

I'll go out on a limb and say this group performs better than last season.
