Means Butch is more unlikely does it not?

He is the only one not coaching now and could be working for next year. If he is the guy get him now!!!

The longer it goes the less likely it will be Butch.

It will be Chud with Mario joining the staff as an assistant.
 
With the failures we've made in last 3 hires you'd want to believe that longer they are taking the smarter they are being by doing their homework. Part of the benefit of firing Al midseason is not being up against the clock and making a fast hire. They might be waiting on NFL bye weeks for interviews, or interviewing everyone they want prior to end of college season then interviewing the college candidates. They are not just going to hand Butch the job because he is available

NO.
The process has to take its course OR gives the appearance that it took its course. A consideration has to be given to other candidates who are interested otherwise it would appear as if the AD is not doing his job.

You gotta keep in mind that it has only been a week since Golden was fired. When they do make a coaching hire (whoever it will be) they probably won't announce it until after the season.
 
Each day that passes is another day Butch could be not only holding this recruiting class together but adding to it. Even Butch optimism aside, if we end up hiring a guy not currently employed then it only serves us to do it now.

A few things I've learned from seeing this process unfold several times in the past is that any true insider won't be on message boards commenting and if they did they wouldn't remain an insider; lots of people throw out crap hoping that if they guess right it'll get posters to see them as an insider and some people "leak" names as a way of paying back or securing a future source or favor (I'm talking about columnists, radio guys and the like).
 
Disagree. I think there's a timetable, and all potential hires will be evaluated on that timetable. I don't think anybody is any less likely based on timing right now.

I heard Chud was joining us as GM....double check your sources, or sauces, as the case might be.

Due diligence requires the University to look at coaches, and that takes a bit more than a week.

I think the decision has been unofficially made.

Besides, Al Foil is delusional, and they are having fun giving him extra days of mindless, unlimited delusion.
 
Miami has to interview several coaches for legal purposes. I know we all hate this phrase but this time it really is a process.

College does not have to go through the Rooney Rule, however the University is being considerate to the coaches who they want to interview since their teams are still playing (it's midseason) Once the end of the season begins they will most likely go through the process of doing interviews. But they can interview whoever they want right now if they want to be aggressive.

If Miami was really interested in Butch it probably would of already hired him since he is not employed.

This. Everyone *****es about Blake but him waiting to interview people isn't bad, he's actually doing his job.
 
They fired Golden to make a decision early.

The Gators canned Muschamp on November 16 and hired McIlwain on December 4th last year.

They are not going to put an ad in the paper. They know who they want :-)

Budget details and staff are being worked on.

The Colts might **** can Pagano and Pep Hamilton and try to promote Chud to OC in week 10 from what I read today. He won't accept the Colts gig.

This won't go past December 5.
