"E comes before W.."

For those of you unaware, this is "the experience/education before the win", or more simply put, winning at all costs is out of hand in college athletics (or life for that matter). It isn't right or wrong, just is.

That is very telling where at least one BoT member's head is at re: Miami Hurricanes Football.

Without a Nick Buoniconti counterbalance, accept bottom of ACCCD results as the norm, with a flash run to the middle every so often. An ACCCD title would be a fluke once-in-twenty years occurence.

Again, not right or wrong, just is.

If you are a fan of the University of Miami, stick with it.

If you are a fan of winning programs and titles, you need to seriously consider finding another program, if for no other reason than your mental health.

Someone has to mention school ranking is dropping as well. I say incorporate this slogan into the billboard.

So does this clown mean Education comes before Winning??

Experience/Education are interchangeable.

For the percentages, Marcus isn't wrong on this regarding developing the individual as a whole to then go into the world and be a productive member of society.

However, the "E before W" philosophy won't come close to any victories of consequence.

The Nat'l champs of "E before W" are programs like Stanford and Northwestern.

I am proud as a Canes alum, but Miami is not those institutions.

With this thought process, our Canes are going to be in the Vandy/SMU/TCU category.

Yeah. I mean yes that's a common thing but that doesn't mean you have to pick one or the other!!!

Someone gotta take these BOT members out bounty hunter style :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

E before W and our E is dropping like a rock as well. Maybe FIU will let us merge with them so we could claim we own Miami again

Anyone remember the "Match Marcus" campaign? 100% advertised as a fundraiser for the athletic department. Marcus event kicked the event off by handing Blake James a $250,000 check. He raised over $3 million. That money did not go anywhere close to athletics. It went to academics, to build buildings,to classroom upgrades, etc

Of course he is advocating for this. He is now raising money for the Climate Change Business school project.

If Lemonis is writing 250k checks to UM he's even more of a piker than I thought. That's peanuts in academia.

We are nowhere near the level of Vandy...in anything other than football.

This fall UM rolled out a Master of Science program in Sustainable Business. They sent me an email and all I remember is something about paper straws. Thought it was stupid. I’m down with consuming less plastic, but f*ck a paper straw. I will just drink out of the glass.

Herbert already committed over $75 million to help build its own building. They are going all in on it.

There was an event where he handed a $250k check to Blake .

I’m trying to recall this to the best of my memory: I believe he said he would match 1-to-1 and ended up not matching. But I think he ultimately gave more than $250K
