I wouldn't say they messed up but probably put a lot of energy toward the National Championship game. I am very happy that we lost out on Leavitt because he doesn't seem like a team player at all. If it's true he gave a verbal to UM then he's not a man of his word and let him go. He will have enorous pressure to produce for Lane and LSU. Right now we have three QB's on our team and one of them has to step up. If I was Mario I would focus my attention on the Cal QB who has potential. Simpson isn't changing his mind. I won't fault Mario here but we need to recruit better QB's. GO CANES and beat the Hooisers.

I don’t like not having this spring portal window . If benefits the teams not in the playoff a lot more

I’m not upset about missing out on Leavitt either. Hopefully they do have a backup plan other than Simpson. I see he is projected first round in most mock drafts. I would have loved the Cal qb. He’s one of the best I saw this season. I also agree. We need to recruit at a much higher level at qb and not depend on the portal for it.
