Incredible y'all don't trust Mario about him vetting players

Could Raiola end up being a backup option for Miami? Sure

I will caution you guys to go watch complete games of Nebraska, and not just a box score, to understand what type of player he is.

His pocket awareness is bad. I’m sure the Miami OL would help some, but I havent seen many successful QBs at any level overcame this trait.

He consistently stares down his primary read, and shows little skill to look off a defense.

He’s an upgrade over Emory for alot of reasons. He’s just not in the same stratosphere with Cam and Beck; so adjust expectations accordingly

Raiola? I have no idea.

My point is that everybody is *****ing about him being a Mahomes weirdo but Mario isn't gonna bring him in without making sure he cuts the ****
I am not *****ing about him being a Mahomes weirdo.

I am *****ing about him being a statue that repeatedly gets sacked (pause) and makes questionable decisions on the field despite all of the god given football tools he possess.

Maybe we fix him. Maybe not.

Time will tell but he (Raiola) is not free of criticism.

Simpson would be over him for me, because he’s safer with proven top ability

But we are at the point where qb options are getting slimmer, and Raiola would be clear top talent.

I mean **** after those two, idk I wouldn’t mind getting BOTH Amari Odom and Braden Atkinson and having them compete with Like and Coleman. I like both those two. And then you just immediately increase spend at WR+TE to get top options

Good luck getting a top WR option in that qb scenario you just laid out.

Highest ceiling?

Not higher than Bailey.
Disagree here. I’d argue there’s maybe like 3-4 guys on all of CFB that have a higher ceiling than Raiola. Will he actually reach it here? That’s an entirely different question. I’m most impressed with the fact that despite a terrible OL and supporting cast, Raiola managed to improve his numbers across the board playing in the second best conference there is.

None of this is in reference to what I originally said but okay

I see there’s at least one other person in this thread that has watched some Nebraska games

last year, there was a very large group of fans who didn't want mendoza. and it was, at that time, an absolutely understandable take given that mendoza, whilst showing some sparks, didn't appear to be the guy for a program ready to make a playoff a run.

it's been a year since and mendoza may be the top qb picked in the draft, with indiana sitting at the top rank in the country.

can we stop acting as if one selected qb will absolutely, wholeheartedly either be the savior or the end?

Mendoza hasn't changed much, his coaching and supporting cast has.

Mateer didn't have a very good season and I could see where a change of scenery may be appealing to him; but what's the reasoning behind why Simpson would leave Alabama if he doesn't declare?
