Phy - the 2 drafted QBs last year in the first round (Ward and Dart) were both portal QBs, so 100%

This year, it looks like it will be Mendoza and Moore for sure (Both transfers).

Of the crop that is going to play college football next year that are transfers now, it’s too early to tell since they are going to new teams but if you are asking for a guess for the 1st round, I would say it’s likely Sorsby.

Maiaiva is transferred before this year but he will be draft eligible next year.

But who the **** knows. So much time between now and the end of next season.

People here (me included RE: Mendoza) fail sometimes to consider that you’re not getting the player you watched. If you have good coaching and a good team, you’re getting a player a year better.

Raiola improved a lot from year 1 to year 2. He was noticeably better. What if he’s even better in year 3? You’d expect him to be. Mendoza wasn’t 2024 Cal Mendoza this year. He was a year better/smarter/more confident in a better environment with better teammates. 2026 Raiola is likely NOT what we all watched this year. This is a 20 year old kid. I think in year 3 behind this line he can be deadly.

He is not Jeremiah Smith. He is a dime a dozen X receiver. We are taking Dre Jacobs this year and next year their will be someone else.

I agree.

It’s the weirdo Mahomes stalker behavior that has him on bad terms with so many people. I don’t think it’s his play, arm talent, etc. If you can get him to buy into a winning culture then that narrative has the potential to change.

Not really comparing the two, but remember what people said about Cam before he came here? Terrible leader. Bad character.

I like him as a QB, he's got the talent.

We're he to come here, all these other things some of you all seems to be concerned with would've already been addressed or a non issue with the staff. They'd already know everything about him and plenty you'd never read about here. So what's the concern?

Raiola walked into a bad Nebraska team as a freshman starter and improved his numbers the next year across the board. Completion %, TDs up, INTs down and Passer Rating up. He did all that while throwing fewer passes. That Matters.

The whole "cosplaying Mahomes" criticism is just as weird as the cosplay itself. Patrick Mahomes is a future first ballot Hall of Famer. Kids emulate greatness all the time. What actually matters is the tape, and I've seen enough to believe this team can be just as good next year if we can bring back the same level of defense and add a real threat opposite Malachi.
