Du'Vonta Lampkin 2015 DT is available he won't enroll at UT

Charlie Strong will be fired from Texas after 2 more seasons.
1. He's getting his *** kicked by TCU and Baylor.
2. Texas is no Loserville when it comes to Academics
3. He has nothing close, nothing, to Teddy Bridgewater
4. Texas has more money than it knows what to do with and will pay Strong off in a heartbeat if needed.

strong is a good coach but he benefited from the year randy got fired and he scored a great recruiting class.
he also took alot of kids who couldnt get into UM. u are right. if u couldnt get into FSU or UF, u could still get
into L-ville. lol

The article below is very interesting because at Big 12 media days Charlie Strong said that Duvonta Lampkin would be released from his NLI after UT's freshman registration closes which is Aug 31 and Oklahoma's last day for registration is Aug 28 which effectively eliminates OU. However if the article is correct and Charlie strong miss spoke at Big 12 media, than that makes things whole more murky for Lampkin possibly landing at Miami. I am leaning toward Charlie Strong being correct in when Texas will release the young man.

Texas signee Du'Vonta Lampkin's appeal to get out of LOI denied
Chris Hummer - Jul 27, 2015

Texas signee Du'Vonta Lampkin's appeal to the NCAA to be released from his National Letter of Intent was denied Monday. This doesn't mean he's out of options, however, only that the process will go on a little longer. Lampkin must now wait for his application to the University to be denied because he doesn't meet the admission standards.

The denial of Lampkin's appeal was first reported by Rivals.

The situation stems from a foreign language credit Lampkin is missing in order to be granted admission into UT. Lampkin needs four semesters of foreign language to be admitted, but he’s only completed two. So when his application is reviewed by the University, he will be denied and then released from his LOI. The first day of classes for the fall semester at UT is August 26, and Texas has until then to accept or deny Lampkin.

Currently, Lampkin is still a member of the Longhorns program. He's listed in the media guide for the upcoming season and won't be able to have contact with other teams until he's released. Lampkin, a member of Texas' 2015 recruiting class, was the only defensive tackle the team signed last cycle.

Lampkin passed both Spanish 1A and 1B earlier this summer, but was told by the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District he did not have enough time to take Spanish 2A and 2B before Texas' fall semester began. If denied, the three-star defensive tackle would have the option to attend a junior college for a semester to finish his requirements. But the family recently said junior college is a "last resort."

If released, Lampkin will look to enroll at a four-year, out-of-state institution that does not require four semesters of foreign language for admission. Lampkin, who did graduate from Cypress Falls High School, is an academic qualifier; he just does not meet the admission standards for UT.

Golden has already stated that we are not in the market for DL transfers.

He is not a DLine transfer, he is 2015 Freshman who once released from NLI to Texas, he is eligible to play immediately. Not to mention since he is under a NLI it is MAJOR tampering violation for schools to officially recruit him or even mention him by name publicly. An Charlie Strong is soooo bitter about this kid leaving Texas high an dry at the DT position, that he is just hoping there is a slip up with a school talking to him officially to early. This is a reason why Lampkins mother specifically mentioned in an interview she gave, stating the family has not spoken with any other schools yet.

An also Golden premised the quote mentioned above by saying anything is possible. I am not directly saying he is coming to Miami, I am just saying I know Miami has interest and that is all I will say about that.

Go Canes
