Cause he has tackling issues. He whiffed on Lopez a few times. He tried to lay a big hit on their WR, instead of wrapping up, and it led to a TD.

I believe Bryce is the best player on defense, however I’m doubtful about him as a nickel given how much we blitz from that position.

I don’t want him crossing the LOS; I want the ball to get thrown his way so he can make a play or for them to never throw his way because they’re so scared of him. Also believe he gives us something different when dropping back in zone.

I’ll admit I was beyond wrong on damari, and love that EOC got his first INT w/ us; but I’m still nervous about situations prior to the INT when EOC is in the perfect spot but can’t make the play on the ball.

While we wait on Lucas / OJ / Antoine, & appears Lucas will be the first to return, it’s time to bring out Ryan Mack. Ideally I’d love to see Chris Ewald and Seatbelt too, but realistically we aren’t going to take Damari completely out of the equation so more Mack is what we need.

we often blitz the nickel for the run game. On early downs. I want Bryce in the Nickel on 3rd and passing situations. Thornton has validated every concern I had from watching his BC stuff. It’s not ‘one good WR beating him on a play.’ He is very likely to struggle in coverage.
 
Bryce is the best player on the defense. I want Dunnigan at safety, Bryce at nickel, EOC + one of the injured starters at CB once they return. Have Omar an early down specialist. We were spoiled last year with Agent Zero being great in coverage and the best run-erasing DB in the country.

When 1-2 CB’s come back healthy I think we will see Bryce play the Nickel on passing downs and Thornton on running downs or when he is blitzing. Dunnigan likely plays Safety when Thornton goes to the bench on passing downs and Bryce moves from safety to Nickel.

The kid is a beast . Heck i almost prefer to play with him and live with the mistakes than watching poyser make the same mistakes over and over . Same with the lbs . 17 should be starting

We have ourselves a deal lol. Agreed with all of that, especially matters more considering our LBs strengths and weaknesses.
