i think you said it best ... he has to play due to injury ... three guys down in three weeks
 
I hope we can find a way to trust one of the young corners and let Fitz get back to safety. I tell you what, Portis looks fluid as **** in all his movements. He’s going to be lock down.

Fitz is probably our best corner in. I like EOC a lot as well. Ideally Bryce moves to that nickel spot once OJ or Antoine or Lucas heals up. Anything we can do to limit Damari and Thorton in coverage is a bonus.

2nd or 3rd and long Thorton needs off the field if you are playing man.
 
Based on his frame, this kid could EASILY put on 15-20 pounds by the beginning of next year.

He's already a great safety prospect, he could be a world class modern day linebacker. Given our depth chart I'd at least consider it.
 
Pending a CB who still can walk id love to move this kid to the Thornton role and get fitz back where he belongs or fitz at nickel in pass situations.

Hard to judge him fully with some duds in coverage around him

Ideally, would love to see Fitz in single high deep FS role, and JJ be the Keionte nickel role. Poyser as SS who can flip responsibilities with JJ.

I’m not sold on Thornton yet. He’s the DB version of Toure, good at coming downhill, not so much when he has to turn around. I would really like to see more Zeke, Pruitt and Wiley combinations on defense on early downs.

why the hate for thornton, outside of being routed up by a good wr on one play, what else did i miss? he was a missile on those blitzes

Mostly spoiled by Keionte?
That said, I dont trust Thornton in pass coverage and while I love his missile mentality, it does feel riskier than when Keionte blitzed last year. I almost feel like that Thornton is teetering on the line of late hits - not sure if he is a step late in his read or slowing down.
