I needed something to listen to at work today so I DL the canesport live podcast . I normally don't listen.

There was a caller who called in and mentioned Herman as next HC. Gary says he's not seasoned enough as a HC to come here.

So the caller starts breaking down Hermans resume, compared Houston's stats from last year to this year. Then compared how drastic OSU offensive numbers have fallen off without him, it was a huge disparity. The guy really knew his stuff, very knowledgeable football fan.

And now comes the idiocy.

Gary's response was "he doesn't have enough experience , if we're going this route we might as well take Mario". Yes.....that's what he said . Seriously .

He compare an ol coach to a proven offensive guru , that's called plays at high level and already has his own program rolling.

I started cracking up in traffic, GF has a serious erection for MC and I don't get it at all. Constantly slurps that guy, he brought his name up at least 10 times during podcast.

I hate everybody who mentions Mario's name. He's the only coaching hire out there being mentioned that I would hate. There's other names that aren't exciting but would be much better than Golden. Mario is Golden 2.0.

Mario could be good with the right coordinators but it is way too risky.

There are much better candidates.

Mario does have more HC experience. The problem is the experience with Mario is all bad.

It's amazing how much Gary doesn't know about football and coaches. People bring up names and he's always like" I need to research him before giving an opinion".

There was a few guys he acted like he never heard of them , including Herman

Fermin is trying to grease the channels so that if Mario is the coach he can have great access and make himself look good

The day Cristobal is announced HC at Miami is the day I start looking for a new team to root for. Would be an awful hire.

I understand that all the coaching candidates, most r good choices even if they r expensive . My concern is with the administration making the right hire, so what could possibly go wrong?

OP- funny you mention his latest podcast. I listened to it and that caller who mention Houston and Herman really knew his stuff. Very knowledgable about his hiring skills as well.

Ferman on the other hand has no clue. You can't even compare Cristobal to Herman
