Especially when they get their degree.

Need to start evaluating early entrees into the NFL Draft a little different. The number is now astronomical when it comes to early declarations. Think we need to start evaluating real early declarations (non-degreed players) and those that have their degree and just not using what eligibility they have left. Those are two completely different situations to evaluate.

If a guy like Boulware already has a family...already has his degree...why would he play another year of college football for free? Please see the discussion that stemmed from Nick Saban's rant about early declarations directed at Ronnie Harrison. You're not making much more money by waiting a year and the risk is pretty big if you are a generally a well thought of pro prospect. Once you get your degree (an athlete should have no problem getting it in 3.5 years)...why stay? Boulware, as the example, is not raising his stock much if at all as a run of the mill player.

True. I don't buy into the propaganda ideas or statements used to promote dedication to an organization or corporation although facts are contrary like your example. We can all name several without thinking.

I don’t get it either. Football was the one thing that gave me happiness. When else can you juke a dude and watch him hit the ground or hit him as hard as you can and get praised for it. You learn how to overcome adversity in a physical manner. Nothing makes a man out of you faster than football. If you don’t like it then well...nuff said. I don’t want you as my friend.

Was very fun for me in life as well. I miss high school ball definitely.

But then in real life you have to retrain yourself to beat your opponent via the medulla oblongata!
