There is a happy medium. If he gets a hefty insurance policy like jameis rapist, he could play his senior year, balls out and not care. He gets paid even with an injury, and maybe even gets more $ up front out of an injury than he could have out of the league. Who wouldn't take that? Get me 10M from Lloyd's, let me finish my degree, and do what I want to do the rest of my life (assuming proper management). You don't think duke knows he is only gonna get 4-6 years out of the NFL, maybe 8 if he is a lucky *** ****? Take the money early if you can and move on and do some thing w your life. With some of these guys football is all they have. They ain't never gonna do nothin, and really don't want to do nothin. Hearing Duke speak, I actually think he has bigger visions. Not saying he is a genius or wants to be an MD or an engineer, but frankly he sounds like a guy who wants to go back and contribute to his community, probably helping kids. If he gets injured, he gets paid and moves on. If he has a great (Heisman) or even mediocre year, he still goes and does his NFL thing as long as he can.
That said, can't fault him for gettin paid, and lettin Yearby step up. But it would be awesome as a fan to have him back.
