Tears Duke Tears

Something I was thinking about regarding this case: We’ll never know the complete truth of what went down behind closed doors, but do y’all think Duke was fielding calls from schools and school Presidents all across the country basically telling them, “Settle this thing NOW!” Even though this is kinda what everyone thought would happen, I believe all these schools were ****ting themselves at the prospect of a rogue judge ruling in Duke’s favor. If that happened, then you’re basically admitting they’re employees and these schools would have a HUGE problem on their hands.

The immediate reaction from players across the country would be, “Oh, so we’re employees now? Ok…” They would form a union and start demanding long-term disability, Workman’s Comp, retirement packages, among other things. Think about how much money this would cost these schools. The number would be astronomical. Right now they’re able to pocket all this money they’re making and they don’t want anyone or any school(DUKE) messing that up. So at the end of the day I can’t help but wonder if this decision was solely Duke’s, or if they were told in not so uncertain terms to sit down and shut the F up.

I read a few of their threads while this was going on. If I didn't know I would have thought they were talking about a different case. Their interpretation of what the contract "said" and how it would be enforced was 180 degrees different from what we all were told/heard. They wanted to inflict maximum pain on Miami and Mensah

My theory is that they originally hoped to involve the actual University of Miami and possibly Mario Cristobal himself. Once it became clear that neither Mario nor the university was going to be involved, the way Ole Miss and its coach were with Clemson, they settled for whatever they could get and called it a day.

Hot take Miami might need to just play the backup against Duke, they are ****** and don't have anything to lose and will be trying to injure him all game

These people are sick, man. Everybody knows there’s red lines or rule(s) we don’t cross as fans. First, you never go after or attack a player’s family or loved ones. Second, you never wish for or advocate a player getting injured. I was really starting to dislike Dukies, but now to use the immortal words of Doc Holliday from Tombstone, “Now I really hate em.”
