ESPN put Duke as the #23 overall pick in their 2015 Re-Draft. Duke's reputation around the league is pretty high. It just sucks that he's on a team that's won 1 game in the last 2 years.

23. Denver Broncos
Actual pick: Shane Ray, edge rusher, Missouri

New Pick: Duke Johnson Jr., RB, Miami

Ray has had his moments, though he has been banged up and inconsistent even when healthy. Johnson has been one of the most valuable players in the class, as he is a dynamic receiving weapon out of the backfield, grading at 90.9 as a receiver last season, good for second in the league.

Really interested to see how Duke is used in Cleveland now that they added Juice and Gordon is playing. It doesn't seem like they want to feature him much as a runner since they signed Hyde and drafted Chubb and there are a ton of mouths to feed in the passing game. He's been a better pro than I thought and it makes me happy to see him do so well. A true Cane

SIAP Gordon is in rehab, not sure drugs or something else, very vague

Aside from the size, I had a feeling Duke was going to make a good NFLer... He was so explosive, had great hands, great work ethic, and was willing to do whatever the coaches asked of him. It is too bad that he had to suffer (along with many of the other highly regarded high school recruits) the consequences of terrible coaching. I could only imagine if he had the opportunity to play under the current regime.

Duke may end up being this generation's Darren Sproles. Too small to be an everydown back but a dynamite receiver who can help out in the return game as well. I'm glad to see him making waves in the league.

Duke Johnson was born a Cane and never wavered.

His mom is the schit too! One of the few to stand up against the Gorlden regime.
Duke, Artie & Chad were 3 of my favorite players from the Folden era.

I love that they stayed home & put on for their city, they were all extremely talented & gifted kids that could've went anywhere but chose to stay home & help try to rebuild what Folden destroyed.

Those boys are the perfect example of what a natural born Cane is, that's who the local kids should be looking up to. All 3 of them are phenomenal young men with great talent that came from very rough circumstances but had the work ethic & fortitude to persevere, plus they're just as great off the field as they are on. Those guys are role models.

I personally would add Perryman, DJax, Walton and Chick as honorable mention considering what he had to go through (even though he wasn't local)

All the supposed “ cane “ fans on here saying he wouldn’t do jack in the league look really dumb right now.

I’m the furthest away from being a homer on our guys at the next level , but anyone who doubted this dude was just dumb. One of my favorite canes ever , it’s just too bad he was wasted under a horrible staff / ol

I've always thought extremely highly of Duke and Duke has always been my dark horse in FF. He's no longer a secret. Duke is avg. 4.2 ypc w/ a chitty chit chit line. Avg. 9.3 ypcatch w/ a chitty chit chit QB. Had 7 TDs in a limited role. I begged for him to be traded to a team like NE or Philly. He could push to become a 1000 / 1000 back in one of those offenses. Duke is a special player. I just wish he had better coaching here and his current "NFL" team.

He should have waited and tested the free agent market or demanded to be traded and not sign that deal. He could have gotten a much better deal. **** the backup rb McKinnon from the Vikings last year wasn’t as nearly ad productive as duke yet he walked away with a 37 million contract with the 49ers or something like that. Duke was better than him and i hate that he settled on his contract. Luther Campbell’s wife dukes agent did a horrible job with that period

This fan base is the worst. It's like any player that leaves early, they automatically hate on them.

Preach.

I'm the first to say had awful the Browns always are, but even I'm baffled. How do they spend so much time not handing the ball to the guy that's clearly their best player? They literally spend all their time drafting QBs and avoiding handing off to Duke.

Fckin morans.

I don't think the Browns have really used Duke wrong, largely based on his size limitations.

If you're under 210 lbs, it's really hard to be a 3 down back in the NFL, or get more than the 200 touches a year range and not get injured.

He's bulked up to 210 now, and he's sacrificed some speed & playmaking ability to become more durable, so it's been a smart/necessary move for him.
