No news is good news on this front. I'm sticking with the facts and not delusional FSU fans on this one. Why would anyone, no matter how much they love their alma matter, create career suicide?
FSU has a shortage of talent and numbers at WR. Tate will go to the NFL. The new FSU WR coach will be depending on Gavin, who has a penchant for drops, and Matthews who's vastly unproven. Matthews is basically UM's Harley at this point. Murray is a JAG. It's comical he's considering the NFL. He won't get drafted. The incoming WR class isn't special even if they land Warren Thompson. The TE position there is in shambles with unproven Mckitty as the starter since Izzo declared for the NFL. The backups are not even on Polendy's level. All the top TE recruits this year have signed elsewhere. The FSU passing game will be hot garbage.
Meanwhile at UM, there's the top WR in the state committed to go along with an underrated Army All American and another big body. Likely the
#1 WR in country returning next season in Richards. Then there's your seniors who you coached up in Langham and Harris. Then you have the speedy sophomores Thomas and Harley. UM will be stacked at WR. I left out that Irvin Jr will be in his 3rd season at TE along with the top 2 receiving TE's in the nation coming in to compete. The passing game should be significantly better compared to FSU.
The ONLY argument one could try to make is that Frenchy is returning to FSU. That's fine and all. However, he's missed an entire year of football and there's no way to know how well he'll play in a new offense. UM will have Perry in his second year and Rosier in his 3rd year after a full season starting in the same system. I don't believe FSU has an edge here at all either.
The good news is that if I'm wrong, the WR coach position at UM will be the most sought after WR position in the country.
