I like the On3 way of ranking portal classes - it's the net of who is coming in compared to who is leaving. Cal definitely has a good class, but they also lost most of their best players. Probably a net wash at best.

Those players jumped in the portal because they were pushed out, probably.

With rosters at 105 scholarships coaches maybe quick to pull the trigger and suggest a young player find a better spot.

Mario has mentioned he and the coaching staff being transparent with every player, and giving them the honest truth if they think the player will eventually compete or should move on. Even help them find a place better suited for them if they can.
