Duce’s TD was a blessing (in disguise)

Im curious - with your big brain, if they drive slowly and there is 30 seconds on the clock. What do you think FSU does?

My big brain knows if they drove slowly, the clock runs out before FSU scores a TD and there is no overtime. My big brain also knows that I don't have a crystal ball. I deal in reality much more than hypotheticals. Hypothetically, Margot Robbie wants to tear my clothes off and hump me like a ravenous vixen. In reality, I'm probably not getting laid tonight.

Im curious - with your small brain, how was the reader supposed to interpret your first message? Here it is, in all it's glory...

"Anyone else think during the game how lucky we were the ending played out how it did?

My concern on FSUs final scoring drive was they would go for two to ice the game (FSU had nothing to lose - why not). Duce scoring so quickly took away the ability for FSU to do that. As we had two minutes on the clock.

We got lucky again on the 1st OT because FSU went first. Had we gone first, we score a touchdown + extra point and they go for two to win the game."

If you're a secret insider for FSU, how much time was required to be on the clock for them to go for two? Is there an algorithm that Norvell uses? Is it gut feel? Why is going for two a concern only in your scenario? There was nothing stopping Mike from going for 2 when they scored with 2+ minutes left.

Why am I supposed to feel lucky that they scored on a 75 yard TD with 2 minutes and change left after we drove the field methodically to take the lead? I was angry and felt like schidt, like I had been punched in the gut. You felt lucky. That's weird.
How were we lucky that FSU went first in OT? We won the coin toss and elected to go on defense first - like every other GD team does. That way you know on offense if you need a TD or if a FG will suffice.

Your post is fear-based and beta-esque. Do I understand after reading some of the rebuttals on here that what you were trying to say was "it worked out better for us in the end that FSU scored quickly rather than in the last 30 seconds because the potential for a sneaky last second two point conversion to steal game wasn't so much of a threat"? Yes. However that's not what you wrote. Instead, you wrote about luck and left me (and others presumably) wondering if you understand how the rules of overtime work with the last part. You also implied that the two point conversion would be good while also ignoring that we had a couple 4th down stuffs in the red zone prior.

Got any more questions for me?

Idk with their stretch of 4th down plays and turning over on downs against Lousville and then us twice, going for 2 and failing would have Mike left on the tarmac. Someone would have probably executed him on the sideline for that.

We're lucky he's a clown and didn't take the FGs early. We left points on the board failing our 4th down and not kicking the FG and then Mensah's interception. We also went conservative on the 50 with 2 min left in the game and could have won it there. Played for OT.

Felt it was one of the worst coached games I've watched all year on both teams. Just poor management overall. Low football IQ by our players, especially on the hail mary attempts. Mike was working Hetherman all night with the screen plays.
Yes, this was the game so far this year where the coaches were overthinking everything. The poor play and low IQ from the players didn't help any. Reminded me of the GT game from '24 and the SMU game from last year. Fortunately, Prison Mike was pretty bad as well and they didn't take advantage of some of our mistakes.

Yeah, can you summarize this in a few sentences? Thanks

Would’ve been fine if we drove down and scored instead of playing for clock and overtime
^^^^ X 1000.

We got in pretty good field position immediately and then stopped being aggressive. I think we just needed 10+ more yards to get in FG range after Mali got us past midfield.

Didn't the same thing happen to us last year in a critical situation and it bit us in the ***? I think we still won that game, but it made things more interesting.

This is like the analytics nerds in baseball who say that strikeouts are fine because the batter could have hit into a double play. No, bad things aren’t good just because there is a worse possible scenario.
