Drew Mestemaker

I would assume he follows his coach to OSU.
Yeah unfortunately he seems to be going to OSU... definitely the best prospect (you could argue Levitt but injury concerns there) this cycle considering he has 3 years of eligibility left. Probably the only person that really commands a near $4 mil price tag.

Why are people assuming this? Not a shot at you. Just wondering if there is any actual smoke that is what is happening or are people just assuming that he is tagging along?
Because Eric Morris is there, his coach at N Texas. But it’s been reported he’s open to other places and Indiana was talking with him but couldn’t agree on money. Btw If Eric Morris wants a qb I want that qb too.

Osu is in shambles. They won one game.
He would be playing with scraps and leftovers at oline and who is he gonna throw to?
Unless they’re gonna spend Texas tech money he would be running for his life all next season.
This isn’t a Mateer situation where he followed his oc to Norman.

Fair point.

As for Miami, is he a good cultural fit? I also share the reservations about not playing top level comp.

I was high on him early on. But I think his learning curve would be too steep for Miami. Would rather have any of the primary 3 we keep talking about (Leavitt, Sorsby, Bailey).

Learning curve? He already runs a very similar offense. Cam played in the Morris offense at wsu.

Furthermore, he would have all spring.

Now if the concern is the speed of p4 vs g5, I’d look at Mensah.

If you want a future nfl QB, this kid is one choice. The two bad games the OL got pushed around and had some help from the WRs. One INT went through the hands. Second point, he scored on the ground in both games. We haven’t had a QB like Drew. He may have the strongest arm in college with accuracy. The 15-20 yard out on the other hash looks like a laser.

Put elite players around him and we make the cfp.

By learning curve I mean throwing against better competition into tighter windows.

I don’t see talent remotely near Cam or even Mateer. Had him on my radar a while back and have been tracking. But I lost interest because I think he gets away with a lot in the Morris system that gets guys open against weaker competition. I’d absolutely take any one of the other three over him.

But that’s just me. I could be wrong of course.
