They talk about how bad the qb position is now but the position is being coached poorly too. There’s only a few really good developers of the position out there.

A lot of old vet QBs who are retired, constantly bring up how poorly the QB play has been with the lack of progressions. And it's a reflection on the coaching. In college preparing them for the NFL and then when they get to the NFL. You're right, there's only a handful of guys in the NFL who can get constant QB production no matter who their QB is.

Who all would you put on that list?
  • Andy Reid
  • Kyle Shanahan
  • Sean McVay
  • Jim Harbaugh
  • John Harbaugh?
  • Kevin O'Connell (McCarthy has struggled this year, but he was raw from the start and injuries have kept him from getting reps; has shown a lot of flashes and strung some good games together the last few weeks)
  • Ben Johnson (early, but good signs)
 
He played two real defenses, Tulane and USF.

30-46-2-3
21-34-2-3

He was 51-80 for 630 yards with 4 TD and 6 INT and was sacked 7 times.
 
Every QB portal option can be picked apart, like many have said. They all have some flaws. This kid would 100% elevate his play here. He is a very good athlete, he is accurate (70%+), and I believe he’d be a great scheme fit here with Dawson. I’d gamble on the upside here all day and be done with it. Him and JKS have always been my favorite potential options. He will end up somewhere big time, hopefully it’s in CG.

I would put Josh McDaniels on this list even though he flopped as a head coach.

People often forget that the primary reason these QBs enter the portal is that they have flaws in their game and want to develop in a better system to improve their draft stock. If Mestemaker was a near flawless QB, he would be going Pro

Idk if i'd put Jim Harbaugh on here cause he doesn't exactly work directly with QBs.

But yeah this list is good imo. Shane Steichen maybe?

This is why I don't agree with Tua taking all the blame cause McDaniels is also a dog**** HC but I digress

I’d take the Harbaughs off then add Steichen and McDaniels . Steichen was great with Herbert as a rookie and Hurts made a huge jump with him. Then fell off when Steichen left. He also did wonders with Daniel Jones. Bruce Arians was another one before he retired. As @ST26 mentioned Payton.

Titans fan here. Cam never had a chance this year. His best receiver is Duke and even he is at best a 2nd or 3rd receiver on most teams, wouldn’t be a starter for some. The other receivers would not play on any team. Cam also has the worst OL in the league and terrible offensive play calling. Even when he hits his receivers they usually aren’t in space and get quickly tackled. On top of that the defense stinks too. Titans are a big mess, I would say this is the worse team in franchise history.

Cam has improved though in the last few weeks. Not worried about him but if he doesn’t get help soon his career may be doomed.

I watch Titans games because of Cam. And weekly I see multiple easy catches dropped . **** had an awful one this past week. There’s been games I’ve seen 6-7 drops. It’s bad .

Cam's rookie year is almost a mirror of what Caleb Williams went through minus the 3 OC's. Drafted to a team with a bad OL. The only difference is Williams had better skill players but the bad line and horrible play calling set him up for failure. In both cases the organization set them up for failure. Question is will the Titans go the route the Bears went by getting him a coach that will help develop and put him in situations to excel and will they improve the OL/weapons around him.
