Does the school provide any guidance to these kids on these issues? Not the ‘where you project’ question, but the stuff you mention?
 
We are living in a world where 3rd round picks are getting cut. The average nfl career is 2.5 years. You better make a team if you want to make a living playing football. One year of league minimum wont make up for 40 years without vocational skills. It’s so short sighted

Go look at how many unwarranted early entries we’ve had during Shannon and Golden years......then compare it since Richt.

Doesn't the school allow them to come back and finish their degrees at anytime at no cost? I think Shalala implemented that.

Yes but they come back with no room/board, no training table, no health insurance, no books/supplies, no tutoring, and no stipend.

You obviously wasnt watching UM games, that man's run defense improved his 2nd and 3rd year, his 2nd year he was running neck & neck with gerald willis III in tackeles for loss, and although this year rousseau had all those sacks, garvin may have had the most qb pressures on the team, and that's from the strongside. So garvin's body of work is their, does he have anything left to prove at this level, not really, the scouts see that, would he improve his draft stock by coming back next year, well who's going to be the d-co, remember, garvin has had 3 d-linecoaches in 3 years, and since it looks like coach stoutland is staying, in order for thing to be consistent, he has to leave early so he can have his 4th d-line coach going into year 4.

So i ask, why not finish it out now while getting bigger, stronger, faster (possibly) and more experienced so you are at your absolute peak for that NFL job interview?

Exactly...how many of the guys who have left early over the years have actually gone back to finish their degree? Didn't Kayaa just graduate...4 years after leaving? I would venture to say he's probably one of the smarter guys, academia-wise, too.

Do any of these guys think, if it doesn't work out there's the CFL? Any idea what pay is like there? Is that even a realistic thought for any of them?

They made their own bed with their play. They weren't anymore desirable last year than this one, so they lost nothing by staying besides a year. Had they elevated their game, it would've been a winning move. That's the point with a lot of the current and past guys. The chance is there to improve your stock, which is currently low to non-existent.

Bandy thinking about declaring early is because of a family situation, not wanting to get the **** out of Miami. But go ahead and keep sh*tting on Miami every chance you get.

If you want to take a look at a sleeper quarterback in the upcoming class, take a look at Lousiana Tech quarterback J’Mar Smith in the Independence Bowl on Thursday. I really like what Smith brings to the table as a potential sleeper. He has great mobility and lives outside of the pocket and out of structure. The magic he can make happen by breaking tackles and getting into space is awesome to watch. But when he is in the pocket, his pocket movement and presence are top-notch as well. He is comfortable working in there. The tools he has are really nice, and if he can round out his game I like him as a potential starter out of this class that no one is talking about. NF
