Agree on all of that. I was referring to the Bandy reference in the post - he could have used another year at UM

I'm not defending his decision, but what would he have gained by another year? He wasn't going to get bigger, faster, or more athletic. I like him a lot, but I don't see much more ceiling for him.

What would have likely improved that would have seriously moved the draft needle?

I hope as many of our players get drafted as possible and there's no shame no matter where they're drafted. All you can ask for is a shot and being drafted gets them that. Same with a workout as an UDFA.

When I say there's no shame no matter where they get drafted, there really isn't. Do you know what the odds of getting that opportunity are? Even if they never make an active roster, they accomplished something most can only dream of. That in itself is special.

I wish them all well, in all they do. They came here with a love of the game and a dream. 99 percent of the people they played with never even got to play in college. Good on them and thank you for your time and effort.

1) next time circle the names on the list of canes or provide a summary. Wasted some non-refundable minutes reading through that.

2) what are we lol’ing? Sr with eligibility left?
RB who everyone knows shouldn’t stay 4 years in college?

We really Lol’ing at Bandy? A guy who gave his heart and soul for the team, left everything on the field. Let me ask you a question....do you think Rumph can coach him to be 6’2?

Cuz if not it doesn’t matter he was never going to be a high round pick.

Stop being jaded exes and support the players.

Because again some are saying or implying “they hurt the team when they leave early.”

....guess whose job it is for them to get players on the roster behind them.....

what are we lolling at seniors for? they spent four years giving their blood to the program. w deejay, no rb should ever stay four years.bandy already said he knows he may not get drafted but really needs the money. cant blame the kid without knowing their background

Bandy, Joe Yearby, Tommy Streeter and countless other Miami underclassmen can share their stories with each other how much money they made by leaving early

To be fair, Streeter was a Senior, He red-shirted as a true frosh. But I do agree, He could've used that extra year to fill His body out.

Year by wasn't no Homer, Walton or Dallas, at least they made rosters. Sans Walton, they will stick and have solid careers.
Walton would have had a good career too if not for breaking the law so much. Those guys were all mid round graded players. Everyone told Yearby “you’re not going to get picked, bro” and he still left early.

IDGAD if Yearby fathered a small village, He had no business leaving early. But at the same time, I do think the University should've did right by that man and let Him finish His degree.

You don’t get it. Idk where this personal vendetta comes from..

Yearby wasn’t going to improve his stock. It didnt matter. He had reached his ceiling and most likely was going to fall in the depth chart.

Bottom line is...I know a guy who gets paid millions of dollars to make sure when these kids “make bad decisions” that the team still have sufficient numbers...

My point was Yearby should've stayed and got that degree.

And Yearby would've been a major contributor in 17', especially after Walton got hurt.

If you have a draft grade that's great but not a guarantee of anything. This is where some college players start to feel the consequences of being a knucklehead in HS and College. Even IF you go in the 7th rd you are among the less than 2%. TWO PERCENT. If OP wanted to mock the players on or not on the list, take an F and sit down. Go Canes

I’ll let Bandy slide on his decision if he thinks he can make a practice squad then he makes more than playing for Miami and can help his family.

Garvin is the big head scratcher. Who got in his ear to tel him to leave. Dude played with zero emotion and made very little impact this year. Why in the world did he think it was best to skip his senior season?

Out of the three that left early, Jeff definitely makes the least sense, since there is a good chance he could have looked really good in the new offense if it is as advertised... Bandy is also a bit puzzling given how late he likely goes... could have really improved his tape if our offense actually does something this year and lets the defense carry the team less. I kind of get Garvin in terms of playing time I guess... but seeing how he may go UDFA makes that not the best choice either...
