Draft Decisions — December 9th update

3 of 4 is great especially since 3/5 of the OL returns and their best LB. The OL might be the biggest in the country if they move Rivers to center or get a guy from Martinez from LSU.

Why are people so vested in moving our best battle tested options at tackle(the most pivotal on the oline) to center when they are already proven. I don’t get that lol
Because we want the best 5 on the field.
For example using like madden ratings, what if:
You have 5 OTs that are rated 74, 77, 79, 85, 86
You have 1 OG that is rated 86
You have 1 OC that is rated 67

Who are you starting and where? Picking the 5 best pure players is easy. But which of those 5 is most likely able to play center? The guy that is 6'5" 325lbs or the guys that are ALL 6'6+ 350lbs+? Now obviously maybe the player isn't as good at Center as he is at OT, but he can still be a big improvement over that OC rated 67, particularly when the guy that would replace him at OT would also be >67 rating...

Also Jalen Rivers is going to get drafted as an OG. Having OT experience is a very good thing for him. Having Center experience wouldn't be a bad thing either. Plus he seems like a very smart kid. It seems like he fits best among current players unless you want to just go with Rodriguez.

This is not Madden.
Portal in a center.
It's not rocket science.

…and if we don’t portal in a center? are there even any good portal centers available? You’re right it’s not rocket science. Regardless today it is unlikely Rivers stays at LT anyways, and LG is where he is more likely to play this season even if we do get a portal Center.

Mario is a master level recruiter. He and Mirabal are OL gurus. They can't get a quality center to come play for them?

Even though we’ve recruited really well at Oline, getting Rivers back is absolutely monstrous.

What’s the status of Antonio Tripp? Know he was hurt, but thought he was brought in to play center. Little to no mention of him.

You seriously made a Madden reference…

why do people think a kid who was an all conference LT and is weighing a decision on declaring for the draft is going to comeback and just switch to C so some unproven younger guys can take his spot? Why don't you just help him fill out his transfer portal papers while you're at it.

Because the staff thinks he can. If Lee would’ve had to miss a lot of time it’s said rivers would’ve moved to center. I think he would stay at LT unless the young guys show they are ready to be starters
Don't see bell playing guard lol
