Shalala wasn't even at UM when Butch was there....had absolutely nothing to do with his departure....Butch left Jan 2nd 2001...Shalala became President June of 2001....No correlation whatsoever....

I didn’t even want to say anything.

I was hoping he would eventually realize what a complete and utter fool he’s made of himself.

This guy keeps rambling on and on, and he can’t even get the basic facts right. They missed each other by around 6 months. His whole premise is based on total nonsense.

This is not accurate. Shalala was heavily involved with Butch’s contract negotiation. Foote had already checked out and that left Dee and Shalala as the soon-too-be President to negotiate and approve Butch’s new contract.

No. No she was not "heavily involved with Butch's contract negotiation".

Besides, this was your ORIGINAL false claim:

"One of the reasons that Butch Davis left was his frustration over Shalala raising the standards for athletes above that of the NCAA, as if Miami was some Ivy League school, which it absolutely is not."

And, again, Shalala had NOT "raised the standards for athletes above that of the NCAA" when Butch left. Butch left in January 2001. Donna took over as UM President in June 2001. Thus, it was impossible for your claim to have occurred.

Your weak attempt to change the argument from "raising the academic standards" to "contract negotiation" is just as false as all of your other claims.

Dr. Frenk job is to run a major private university that encompasses many different aspects not just sports. University of Miami is more than just sports, I know thats how we view the university based on this board and our love for all things athletics.
Duke is hi-end Academic Institution, they at least try to upgrade Athletics.
Miami?
A whole lot of Lip Service..
