If it was one of Clemson's co-OC's, that would be nothing short of amazing. Both are Clemson alums, though, so I wouldn't get my hopes up. Maybe we'd be willing to offer Elliott enough of a raise from $850,000 a year to make him consider the jump.

Clemson being able to hold onto their coordinators (Elliott/Scott on offense, Venables on defense) without them getting poached for head-coaching opportunities elsewhere is as big a reason as any for their sustained success these last several years.

This. Its inexcusable. Even if we take off our Miami shades. It was such a bad hire that it likely got him fired. No way there weren't numerous people telling him not to do it. The guy was out of coaching and working at the boys and girls club for fcks sake. And to top it off he then hired Paul Williams! Williams did an interview video for Illinois (who also FIRED HIM) that was so bad its hard not to question ANYONE who interviewed him and came away impressed enough to hire him.

So yeah, lets hire him and allow him to give input for the offensive staff.

Yet if Lane Kiffen were the OC candidate no one would bring up how many times he’s been fired in 10 years. Being an OC is not being a head coach. I guess that makes Saban the dumbest mfer in college football because he hires nothing but fired head coaches

Applewhite was a “savage” three years ago to the Miami bros — basically sent Jimbo and FSU into their mutual death spiral. Now he’s a sure fire loser.
 
Fedora seems like the dude who wants to be the top dawg

if he has a shot to be the HC somewhere, not sure he would pass that up, even if it is temple

clemson lost 1 game last year before the CFP. they were not "another team"
