Down to Fedora and Applewhite according to BJ and Lauzin

Applewhite offense would fit more "cutting edge" or modern remark from Diaz honestly than Fedora. Applewhite has coached with Herman and Briles, besides the air raid disciples that is as good as it gets in regard to modern spread offense I would think. When I think Carolina offense, I think kinda like Gary Crowton, spread 1.0 dink n dunk type really testing the edges screens to wr or swing passes.

Fedora will bring the tempo and true spread to miami but I might like Applewhite better
When unc had trubisky they threw a lot of deep balls.

Oh I know, they do the whole screen pass to deep shots, Heck Mack hollins went from walkon to drafted wr catching those deep shots I think that year.

I am just giving you my personal take on cutting edge comment. I never got that from watching UNC offense, they ran the uptempo spread stuff, but the look and feel was more spread 1.0 Its hard to explain, the guys who have evolved that initial spread to what we have today, applewhite seems more tied into it.

Not gonna complain if its fedora as I have been begging for spread in miami for over decade while we had pro style bros talking about quadtrine hill in the flats but I think some are over hyping fedora like he had top 10 offenses at UNC yearly. He has things to like and things to kinda look at with side eye.

i really dont care what they run. spread or air raid or tampon overdose. what i want is a coach that plays multiple offenses that creates mismatches for the defense, that marshalls the talent we have and will have and that has a relentless, aggressive attitude.

alabama ran all sorts of formations the other night. spread, 2 back, 2 TEs, i formation and many others. they changed offensive schemes throughout the game. they ran hard and fast, and then they threw and then they slowed down. you didn't know what to expect. that's what we need. don't care about titles.

what does manny run on D? fast, violent, aggressive football. it has no "name". punto y aparte. full stop and done.

This! All I heard on this board were posters wanting a wide open, air raid, spread offense and we have a chance to get an OC who epitomizes that as a BACKUP PLAN and mofos are complaining? Smh. This fanbase I swear.

Diaz already said there are 3 finalists. All signs point to Fedora, MA, and (gulp) Coley. If Fedora declines we better pray Applewhite accepts and pick his a$$ up from the PJ personally before giving Coley the job!

Lol one of the best O minds in college football and a Former Head Coach of a solid Houston football team??? joke hire???? Have you not watched us the past 15 years?????

A joke hire is Patrick Nix, Mark Whippel or Anyone not ready to evolve
Don’t know what they talking about. I know I’m not the only one who remember how Herman came on the scene at Houston in 2015/2016. Applewhite was his oc calling the plays and they were good.

If applewhite came here he would assuredly run that Tom Herman/osu like offense he ran at houston

Exactly. Applewhite is a great coach. But I do prefer Fedora but either are incredible hires. Applewhite's O is more innovative but Fedora's fits Miami more IMO.

Go ahead and be the ****** that says "hes better than richt". The point is he is not ELITE OR AMAZING. ELITE AND AMAZING is what Miami is.

You guys are way too invested emotionally now in Fedora. I wont hate it if he's the hire, I wont shed a tear either if he's not. He's a douchebag, who has also turned in a 90+ offensive rank the 2017, not much better in 2018?

He’s not a perfect candidate by any means but he wasn’t calling plays at unc then.

I think Fedora would be a really good hire and then applewhite would be a good hire(starting to warm up to this more though).

Seriously, I don't get it. Either would be very nice hires. With either one on staff this past season we probably go 11-1.

He almost was though - through his micro-management and condensed playbooks on game-days. Somedays his money-ball approach worked, somedays not so much.

For whatever it's worth I think Temple prefers up and coming coaches as opposed to step down coaches. That's what Fedora would be for them coming from UNC to Temple.

That being said, you're kidding yourself if you think a guy in his 50s would take the coordinator job over the head coach if offered.

We can be all fancy and what not but if our dude can’t throw it it’s will still be limited.
Unc looked really good with trubisky.
Wvu couldn’t move the ball with Allison.
And Clemson was another team with KB last year.
