Down to Fedora and Applewhite according to BJ and Lauzin

My question is how do you know Fedora is looking to be a HC somewhere else? My opinion is if Fedora comes, he will be here longer than 2 years. Why can Clemson and other Universities can have long standing coaches? We can, too. Just show them the money đź’´ đź’°...

As I said in the other thread, I'm calling BS on the Fedora to Temple rumor. It's been widely reported that Temple prefers a defensive-minded coach. There are zero legitimate reports about Fedora interviewing for that job.

However just in case it does happen, let this be the first "we dodged a bullet" article to make us all feel better*:

*I'm still hoping for Fedora.

Prefers? I think they take what they can get!

Take your orange and green glasses off. The last 4 coaches at Temple have gone on to be coaches at bigger programs. The first one I won’t say his name. The others went to BC, Baylor, and Georgia Tech. Temple has become the Juco for coaches

I want Fedora as well but if he has a good season next year at Temple then I can see that being a one hit wonder kinda year for him.

Honestly though, Temple might want Fran Brown more than Fedora. They have to be tired of hiring new coaches every other year. Fedora is getting a lot of interest from programs now so they have to be a little gun shy about picking him and having him bolt after one year.

Fedora is the most important recruit in the last 10 years for this program.
Just to be objective and think more critically about this hire. Who do you compare fedoras offense too?

Applewhite’s new offense from(houston oc days on) is very comparable to what Herman ran at Ohio state and that’s pretty intriguing to me. As I’ve said earlier today starting to come around more to the idea of applewhite as oc. Almost forgot that he called plays those 2 years at Houston when Herman made his claim to fame as a head coach . Imagine an osu like scheme the one Herman ran at Ohio state at Miami with our talent on the roster

The thing with Fedora is about more than just the scheme (which I love)....it's has **** attitude. He's the closest thing to JJ this program will have had in the last 20 years. He gets up on you by 50 and he'll call timeout to go up by 57 late in the 4th. It's an attitude that can permeate throughout the entire **** team and become part of the culture. For 20 years we've hired a bunch of nice guys, some real sweethearts....and I just feel like we need to return to our roots.

Fedora's scheme is all about motion and creating numbers mismatches. He likes to maintain run-pass balance but does it INTELLIGENTLY , not by running into loaded boxes or just plowing up the middle like Richt loved to do.

Applewhite is much closer to an air raid offense. I mean whatever....I don't love his resume. I know some on here like him but to me...there's a BIG gap between the two, especially when you factor in the swag that Fedora brings to the table.

I dont think this has anything to do with Temple.Nobody anywhere Is talking about this.

I think this is all about going back to coach with Gundy a guy he seemingly got along with before leaving there.Plus Okie St. Already has players including a decent QB to run an offense unlike us who have to pray Williams can actually play QB or pray we can find one hanging around the transfer pool.

Not sure Fedora pulls the trigger to come here even though I’d love to have him but Applewhite isn’t a bad second choice.

Fedora would be insane to take the Temple job over this one. He could use this as a stepping stone to a HC job at a major P-5 program.

And he could do that as Temple's HC too. No way he's gonna take an OC over HC gig.

Initially I wasn’t a fan when I saw Applewhite name pop up a few days ago. But then I was Just looking at his history again and completely forgot how much of an attitude tom Herman’s offense played with at Houston when he got the job there. Applewhite was the playcaller and he did really well there. They were agressive, spread the ball around and beat legit teams.Starting to get more intrigued since much of that offense was what tom Herman ran at Ohio state and not what applewhite was doing at Texas.

I havent seen anything about him being a candidate at ok st. either. I looked on there 247 board and they were talking about bringing back monken from the bucs or hiring from within.

Applewhite offense would fit more "cutting edge" or modern remark from Diaz honestly than Fedora. Applewhite has coached with Herman and Briles, besides the air raid disciples that is as good as it gets in regard to modern spread offense I would think. When I think Carolina offense, I think kinda like Gary Crowton, spread 1.0 dink n dunk type really testing the edges screens to wr or swing passes.

Fedora will bring the tempo and true spread to miami but I might like Applewhite better
