Manny left Miami for the opportunity of his FIRST head coaching job. Most coaches would coordinate for a couple years then go back to a better job. Who knows what he is thinking but I’m guessing he is thinking that after being a coach so long at a p5 temple isn’t a stepping stone he would want. Most fired coaches seem to want to get back to coaching not being a ceo after they are fired from a toxic work exhausted job.

I want the hat man. If only because, admittedly, I've seen a lot more of his offenses at UNC than those of any other candidate. Win or lose, I always think what a pain in the *** his offense is to deal with. Can you imagine him running the same confusing 3 back stuff he pulled on us last season, with Dallas, Lingard and George? I can. If we are looking for a guy to "scheme" the running game loose, I believe 100% that he can do it.

Fedora would be a great get but there's one drawback with him. I wouldn't expect him at UM more than 1-year. I don't see Applewhite as a great fit at UM. Interesting!

Let me reiterate how bad it was for him at Carolina. He was fed up with his players and burnt out. I would be shocked if he didn’t take a stepping stone OC job to get back into it. Then take another HC job, unless his ego gets the best of him, he’ll be here

I much prefer Fedora and have a feeling we will get him but who knows . Baker is a great DC hire IMO .

I'd be good with Fedora or Applewhite. Major is experienced and can recruit. You all put too much stock in how someone performs at HC when that's not the position we want them for..

Would be good with Baker too. Saw his D a couple times this year. Tough and will get after you. Don't sleep on him being from CUSA. They just won their 4th bowl championship cup. 1 of the better G5's.

I think he will stay at most 2 years so you are correct. But still even 1-2 years of him would be amazing especially if there a guy below him being groomed for the spot once Fedora gets a big job.

Fedora would be insane to take the Temple job over this one. He could use this as a stepping stone to a HC job at a major P-5 program.

Manny left this same job for that same temple one.

Love how people argue, that HC for Temple is not as good a job as OC here. Look at the last few HC's from Temple. They did pretty well for themselves.

Tough pull. HC always trumps OC unless we're throwing the house at him. But how sweet would it be to poach TWO HCs from Temple in a week lol

Money shouldn't be a big deal with UNC basically paying the difference I would think.

Nobody is justifying his last couple seasons. But if you were paying attention it was expected. Dude was checked out. Carolina kept him to save money. Saban couldn’t win 9 game with that team

half his team was injured the last two years and he also stuck it out when he was hammered with the ncaa stuff.

One positive for Applewhite is he had a year to learn from Briles.

We wont land him of course and en up with some applesauce. How disappointing, and then have to hear at a press conference that he was the main guy all along. JESUS christ can we just get something to go our way.
