Dorsey

The Canes would do well to make Richt the last legacy hire. When the time comes there should be a REAL attempt to hire the best, innovative, young candidate out there. Someone who is willing to surround himself with similar innovative coaches.

Is he good enough to be an oc at Miami? What are his tendacies he likes to do calling plays and how good was he at Carolina with cam newton?

Honestly I would Like Kendall briles to be the offensive coordinator here, it will be an amazing site to see at Miami but obviously you would have to do a thorough vetting process of his involvement if any of what occurred at Baylor for sure.
Went to the superbowl and Cam won an MVP with him so, good? I would want Briles also, I wanted him when he was at FAU.

Dorsey has no experience as an offensive coordinator at any level besides high school. Even if he was to take a QB coach position, it would only be until he gets another NFL offer. He wants to coach in the NFL.

I would prefer they bring in an experienced OC with a more modern paybook. There are young guys out there who could bring this offense into 2018 easily.

The man is literally a few blocks away. Little Richt can serve water with mommy or carry equipment as I feel that is the most he is qualified to do. Dorsey should have been the 10th coach. Now is the time to end the nepotism and bring someone in that can break down an opponent and knows what the **** he is doing when it comes to QBs.

Jon could actually move to analyst and learn from Dorsey

Having a guy who would bring more nfl concepts into offense, who can develop QBs and who can read defenses from press box during games.

It is a no brainer

He’s the best option under this regime

(Obviously hiring Kendal Briles and giving him the keys to the offense would be much better)

Richt isn’t overhauling his own system and isn’t giving up play calling.

Make Dorsey the OC/QBC

Agree, but i would want it in writing from Rick that i would get to call the O without him butting in with his ole worn out garbage plays, I think KD would be great and have said as much on here several times.

If an NFL team called him today to come coach QBs, he'd quit that FIU job in a nanosecond. He would be willing to listen if UM came calling too.

This...he already is on record as saying he loves coaching. The truth is he didnt have any offers that he wanted to pursue and Butch basically begged him to come to FIU in some type of role. Being Asst. AD just allows him to round out his resume...he is more than smart enough to get back into coaching. If the right opportunity doesnt come along, he can pursue a career in administration.

A lot of people will look at this as a pipe dream, but it's probably the easiest hire Richt could make while saving face. Bringing in a true outsider would all but signal he is waving the white flag. If he finds his son a new job elsewhere (with his contacts that shouldnt be difficult) they could bring in Dorsey as QB Coach/OC, elevate Brown and Dugans to RB/Asst HC and WR/Asst HC, respectively, and Corch Richt can still pretend he is involved with the offense.

The only real issue with this scenario is the potential slight that Manny would feel, but they could fix that by making him the highest paid assistant on the staff.

I realize the mob is out to get Jon Rick, but he’s got about as much to do with this offensive abomination as you guys do. As long as Senior is running this offense getting rid of Junior is like clipping your fingernails in an attempt to cure throat cancer.

We need a guy like Briles or someone who has apprenticed under Lincoln Riley.

We need to get away from this busted old clunky slow JJ/Butch Davis Dallas Cowboys 1990s offense.

Dorsey isn’t the answer here. That Mike Stoola/Chud stuff isn’t needed here.

The way things are going in Lincoln, we might get to hire Scott Frost to run the offense here next year.
