All of you guys talking about Dorsey coming back to be OC/QB coach and all this other jazz have got it wrong. Ken Dorsey is never coming back to coach here. Why? Because he is completely committed to the AD career path.

What we should all be screaming for is Ken Dorsey for AD. We need to replace that goofball Blake James with someone that knows college football and has the best interest of the Miami Hurricanes football program in mind. That man is Ken Dorsey. He is learning the administration side of it right down the street at FIU. He's plenty qualified and ready as he will ever be. To have an actual football guy and a guy who is a hurricane football legend sitting in the AD office would be something this program hasn't had in a very long time. Ken won't put up with mediocrity and he has plenty of connections through all his time in the NFL not to mention his ties to quality college coaches through his association and friendship with Butch Davis.

Let's start talking about this. We have a voice. Let's make it heard. Can you imagine the impact of having one of our own as the AD? Yes I realize that the AD's responsibilities include much more than the football team but it is the football team that has the potential to bring in the most money and its the football program that makes most of the other sports possible. Ken Dorsey for Miami Hurricanes Athletic Director. That's what we should be concentrating on. Lets make it happen.

I’m not convinced. He was hoping for a call from us. Guy is way too young to walk away from coaching. I’m sure he is pulling some double duty. I say just bring the trio of Garcia, Butch and Dorsey home.

Miami needs to go out and get one of two types: an AD who has been successful at a smaller scale university. Someone who is hungry and wants to cement their legacy.

Or a qualified alum who is financially committed to bringing football back to National Prominence.

He's not qualified to be AD at Miami. He's not even the current AD at FIU, he's the assistant AD. I'm not a fan of Blake James but replacing him with Dorsey would be incredibly risky.

I'd take him as QB coach. If we want him as AD he needs to learn that job a for a few more years and ideally actually have a full fledged AD job on his resume before taking over here.

I'm open minded to your opinion and I started this thread to spark this discussion but let me ask you this. How many ADs have we had at UM in the past 15-20 years? Now how many of them were thought to be "qualified"? I'm guessing probably all of them. My point is where have all of these "qualified" ADs taken this program? I'm a proponent of thinking outside the box. What we need at AD is intelligence, leadership, competence and a commitment to fulfilling the enormous and untapped potential of the football program. Is Ken Dorsey relatively young? Yes. Is he inexperienced? Yes. Does he check all of the boxes I listed above? Yes I believe he does. I'm open to any suggestions that will enable us to achieve what I outlined above. I happen to think Dorsey would be at the very least an intriguing possibility. Someone said hiring Ken Dorsey as AD would be risky. What I'm saying is I think it could very well be worth that risk.

Make me an AD. I'm a federal officer that grew up a UM fan and wants to bring the spread offense to South Florida. Grew up on NE 112th street next to Barry University and mama Jena's. Will always run a base 4-3 defense and will fire any coach that isn't performing. I will make sure to drop bags for elite recruits and let UM become the biggest national recruitment site of all of college football. I will not only make sure we recruit South Florida but make sure we recruit all of the U.S.

Like we did with Shannon and Richt?

Yeah sorry not signing up for this one. Lots of issues with our program I don’t think James is one. He got rid of Golden, the richt hire now doesn’t look as good but looked like a great grab when it happened, facilities are much better, social media is improved, GameDay was a big success last year. AD isn’t our problem
