Landing Johnson, who missed his junior season because of injury, is still massive since he’s such a talented defensive back and is also the teammate of five-star cornerback Donte Wright.

According to a source, while the Bruins remain a big contender especially after a visit to Westwood earlier this week and an expectation he’ll be back Saturday for the spring game, Johnson’s decision won’t influence Wright’s final choice.

Wright committed to UGA without him and had no interest in OU when Johnson did. That said, Wright did talk up UCLA recently as did recruiting analysts.

Oregon position coach Rashad Wadood met with Wright during a two-hour in-home visit and at school this week as the Ducks are pushing the hardest for him to flip. There is confidence from others close to this recruitment that eventually, Wright will end up moving his commitment to Oregon.

But some are talking up Miami after a visit there while others are not convinced that Wright is going to end up with the Hurricanes.

This is pretty revelatory because there are only so many hours in the day ……
