What are you kidding me? You think Mario would let a guy back who left Miami high and dry?I'm not sure if he left on good terms. If he did, he could portal back next season, assuming we need a starting DT.

Fck that I agree with you . Mario took him back he would be sending the wrong message . This would create a toxic locker room tooHe did not leave on good terms
"My love wasn't really at Miami," he said. "You know, they didn't really want me for real. So like, I had to work harder for them to even recognize me, so I just feel like that wasn't the place for me."
Even so, Simpson values the season he spent at Miami.
"It was a good experience for me to take in what college actually is," he said. "That year really gave me a lot of knowledge to take further. Now the way I think is more improved. That year really helped me out."
Simpson entered the transfer portal on New Year's Day, before the Canes' season was even over. Missouri wasn't really on his radar and he wasn't on theirs. The fact the two came together was a stroke of luck.
Mizzou defensive assistant Sabbath Joseph happened to be back in Florida. Joseph played at USF from 2006-10 and had previously been an analyst at Miami. Joseph started at Mizzou in June of 2025, just five months after Simpson had enrolled at Miami. Joseph and Simpson bumped into each other getting smoothies in South Florida. Joseph asked how Simpson was doing.
"I'm like, 'Coach, I'm in the portal right now,'" Simpson recalled. "He offered me right on the spot, and that was just crazy how that happened."
Simpson said he heard from about 20 schools, but committed to the Tigers ten days later, enrolled for the second semester and moved to Columbia.
That's an attitude Simpson has carried since arriving at Missouri in January. He played for national runner-up Miami last season as a true freshman. He wasn't just on the roster; he actually played.
"He wasn't in there when it was 50 to 7," Mizzou defensive tackles coach David Blackwell said. "You know he played legitimate snaps as a true freshman on a good defense and on a good football team."
A three-star Class of 2025 prospect from Chaminade-Madonna in Hollywood, FL, Simpson logged 105 snaps in ten games in his first season with the Canes. But despite getting on the field and playing his college football less than 25 miles from home, Simpson never felt at home in Miami.

Don’t know how much I buy this story however he did visit Illinois first. No mention of Coach Nicholson who would’ve recruited him alongside Bobby Washington and Malik Bryant
