Given he played both ways and was a champion weightlifter, I had very high aspirations for Jones. I still think he has a ton of talent. But DTs are a different breed. You need to take 2 in the hope 1 pays off, 3 if you can.

He's still young and has been a little banged up but not a good sign that both Simpson and Russell seem to have moved ahead of him,

He will play this season. He is currently injured, before that he was right there for that 4th DT spot. I full expect to see him on the field at some point this season.

Do you think this is partly because we are thin at DT that they expect him to get a lot of burn? Haven’t heard his name a ton in camp reports or scrimmage updates.. I know some insiders have heard stuff, but I’m surprised that kind of chatter would lead to freshman AA at a national publication..
