I doubt Mario gets a call....heard he ****ed several higher ups off when he crapped on to take a lateral job at Bama weeks after signing his contract with UM. It's all hearsay.
 
So administration is still butt hurt 15 years later over Butch leaving for an NFL job, but they are ok with Mario leaving just a few minutes after accepting a position on the staff? Hmm

OP, don't get defensive when they attack you. You knew what was coming when you posted it. That's why you tried to soften it with don't kill the messenger. I'm one of those 25 fans with you in Jax. Frangie is a good source but these guys don't know that.

To those calling BS. Frangie didn't say they have entered negotiations and signed a contract. That it's a Done deal. He was simply relating Gino's views. He and Gino are business partners, have been for years, broadcast games together. Gino comes on 1010 regularly. Frangie would not have said this unless Gino told him and he knew Gino was ok with him repeating it. you can't call BS on the OP just repeating what was said. And I guarantee Frangie got it from Gino and felt comfortable enough to repeat it and probably asked him if it was ok to repeat.

The only questions are how much in the know is Gino really? Who told him? Can this be changed?
 
To believe the Mario story would require us to believe that the BOT has already decided to fire Al AND has made a decision on who to hire already. This from a pack of smucks who has kept this idiot the last two years. I have better chance of winning Lotta tomorrow than that being true.
 
I call BS because that would involve forward thinking from someone that matters at Miami. These idiots don't know if they are gonna fire Al. They are hoping this clown wins the Coastal so they can point that as some sort of progress. I would put money that there hasn't been any serious talk about replacing Golden from those at the top.

Errbody needs to make their voices heard between now and the - on BLAST - how unhappy they'd be with this hire.
At least let the administration know that the noise won't stop even if they fire Golden.

Is Mario really that bad? What did he do at FIU that was that terrible? I mean FIU was a **** show when he got there right? I just don't get the hate for Mario. The real question and more important question is IF Mario got the job, who would he hire as assistants. Butch was a great recruiter but he was a horrible game day coach. It was Butches assistants that made the difference in developing and managing the players.

This is how bad it is for me, i would take Mario over Golden in a heart beat and we would certainly be a better team. Would we be 2001 good, probably not, but i can't take this clown or his boy Dorito anymore.

The only way Cristobal is the hire is if the school, literally, doesn't care about competing at the highest level.

Keeping Golden and hiring Cristobal are the exact same thing ... SMH

The only highlight Cristobal has on his coaching resume is that he played here, and then was an assistant coach here.

If that's all it takes, why don't we just promote Hurlie or Kevin Beard ... Or, why don't we hire Lamar away from Louisville?

Seriously ... Guys claim any good catch can win at Miami. Well, wouldn't a good coach be covered by some other programs??

Nobody else wants Cristobal! He won't be in the mix for UCF, he didn't get the FAU job, he won't get the USF job, either. Let that sink in ... A guy not good enough for FIU (fired him), FAU, UCF, and USF (won't hire him) is viewed as the best option for Miami???
