Bye week for us and I was bored so I found this jewel. Some months back some one on this board said that Al was alluding to the Navy Seal training mantra of not HAVING to have to rise to the occasion because they are so well trained, the performance is automatic due to muscle memory. They didn't have to "rise" to the occasion per se just simply fall back on their training and they would perform at a high level. However watching this video starting at 1:53 Al is LITERALLY saying the moment of playing Florida State may be too much for the poor kids to handle so they should LITERALLY NOT rise to the occasion and trust their ******, crappy, penn state, big ten coaching buzzwords, intangibles, and 300 page binder TRAINING instead. At the end of the video Al is literally rambling nonsense as he tries to make sense of why they lost that game. Makes me so happy to have an actual coach at Miami again. Thank you Jesus for Brother Mark!

LMAO at 5:25...

"Coach Golden said all week 'don't rise to the occassion' and to 'fall back on our training'. I know there's going to be times where they say stuff and we don't believe them (trust your intuition, Herb) but then it really happened."

Yeah, to the tune of 41-14 or whatever the final score was in that game.

bahahahahahahaha. I know a lot of guys just don't want to see Golden or talk about him or read his name. But this is frickin hilarious. Ill admit he had me fooled for 2-3 years with his bull, car salesman JoePa approach. Needless to say he's gone now and we can laugh at him, and may we pray we are never duped again.
