But we're up to 85 in ESPN's latest BPI.

If we win the next two games, we get a bye in the ACC Tourney.

If we win a few there, it could get very interesting.

Only 20-30 spots out.

Unfortunately, the top 68 don't make the tourney. You need to be top 50 to have a good chance to get in. Big South, MEAC and SWAC , etc get their bids, too.

Its crazy because this team lost so many stupid games. We lost to Vtech twice, St. Francis, UCF. We should have beaten Syracuse (possibly twice) and definitely had Pitt beat. If we would have just won a few of those close games we would be on the bubble. Oh well, maybe we make a run in the ACC tourney.

And by the same token, there are "stupid games" this team could have lost that we won. We beat UNC in the Dean Dome when they were struggling - they're 12-1 in their last 13 ACC games, and by fluke of schedule, we could have caught them later and gotten blown out of the gym. We almost lost to Cal State Fullerton, which would have killed our RPI. And so on...

This is an inconsistent team, and that leads to this type of record. The results have largely balanced out. It's a waste of time to only look back at our close losses and say that "well, we should have just won these five games and we'd look very different." Of course we would. But there's also five games we could have lost, and we'd look far different there as well.

when you turn over your entire starting lineup, force a true freshman to play 30 mins at point guard (arguably the toughest position to play on the floor), lose your starting shooting guard in Burnett to injury and have to rely on a rag tag crew it is miraculous we only got blown out of 2 games this year. We've been highly competitive but just lacked the chemistry/maturity/experience to win some of those close games early on. That said if we win our last two and one or two in the ACC tourney we should land an NIT bid, yet another miracle IMO

Poorly coached? Seriously.
