Don't forget the whole opening up the checkbook when the guy they hired would have taken the job for a quarter of what they said they would spend.....

I think that we'll have the decision this week personally (and I have as many sources as my stove)....

No surprises if it's Butch....Let him finish what he'd started in the past. I don't think there will be a large change from his philosophy or style from his 1st stint here. The roster will be loaded top-to-bottom soon enough....

Anyway, after speaking with my relative, the rumblings around the hecht today were true. The Canes did what some on here said they would. The BOT came together, sorted their differences and ultimately made the most popular decision for the Canes. After a couple of candidates that they sorted through, Schiano and Strong must notably, and to add Cristobal was never considered for the HC gig. Some even clamored for Scott. In truth, he was their guy all along, they just wanted to do their "due diligence" by inquiring about guys like Shula, Strong, and Chud. Strong's finish to the year really turned a lot of people "off".

Butch Davis will be the next Head Coach of the Miami Hurricanes.

Expect an announcement within the next week or two. They want to let the season die down a little before an announcement.

I have nothing to gain by wasting my own time as well as the diehard canes fan's time by writing this post.

I know I will get some hate but so be it. You will love me when the announcement is made. Might want to Sticky this one so everyone can remember who called it.

Go Canes!

Let the celebration begin for the Butch diehards.

I just don't see Butch's staff (if the new HC IS Butch) being everyone (or almost everyone) with ties to the program.

He does know a lot of people in the NFL and college who are quality besides those with ties to Miami...

Perfect scenario.I would rather spend the money on great assistants than spend half the budget on a Head Coach.

The whole up to two week thing is weird. If the OP is for real that timeframe could have been thrown out because they are still working on the specifics of the deal. Again, if the OP is for real, I would expect an announcement before this Friday if not tomorrow. We'll see.

Of course that is assuming this info is legit.
 
Blake might genuinely have a couple of guys ahead of Butch and he's waiting to see how that unfolds.

Or he might be a stupid ******* ****** who knows he wants to hire Butch but is choosing to wait for some reason. Who knows.
