Re the time frame: a group within the BoT could engineer a deal that they think they could sell to the entire Board, working through the late holiday period. If the Board is going to make this happen, though, they'd need to assemble a quorum, right? In that event, Monday makes sense. But only in that event. If the whole board wants a full protracted debate, explore options, etc., there's no way that gets done in a day. But if phone calls have the insiders convinced the Board will ratify their moves on Monday, we'll all be happy as swine in **** come tomorrow.

Thanks for the post; I only had a vague recollection of what he looked like and that recollection always had him on his knees in front of Blake or Al or Doritos.

He must have had some security with him; the student could have ran instead and induced Marks to keel over and expire...

It's not that that complicated. Where the admin ****ed up (beyond the extension) is they assumed Golden wanted to be back. They figured they would get him to make some cosmetic changes to appease fans etc, and then see what happens in 2015. They didn't realize that Fat Al really wants out, so he gives a hearty **** you to everyone and tells them "I ain't changing ****, fire me if you don't like it"..hoping they would of course. The admin knows he wants out so they don't want to pay him his full buyout if he wants out....now it's about ego and pride. The admin doesn't want to be forced into paying this loser his full buyout. It's a standoff...I predict the admin flinches and he gets his money and leaves. It will probably take someone (big donor) willing to write a check to push this through though.

i read earlier about UM BOT having a contingency plan in case Golden left to PSU last year so that they don't get caught like deer in headlights. Anyone have any idea what this contingency plan could be?

Hire national search agency to help with search because our AD doesnt have a list of candidates that most competent AD usually have, agency will cash check and then tell them to hire asst off failed staff to guarantee another check in a couple years

Even if he wanted back he would not change anything. The way the dude sits there and defend the ineptitude on Joe Rose I'm convinced he believes he's doing a fine job. That's what makes it so hopeless. I can't wait for him and Fat D to be jobless scrubs.
