Nathan Skinner "report" was likely from this site from everyone saying that it's been real quiet at Hecht and at UM. Al Golden has certainly been a notorious presence this weekend.

I'm saying that golden picking up a phone call from a recruit doesn't mean you won't get fired on Monday. When you hear a rumor unless your boss tells you're fired you're still going to be working.

Right after your long "update", FetidCane wrote that your update was still fictitious and said your assertion of that Butch plausibility is laughable to BOT members.

Just kill the f***ing program already. Be done with it. Golden staying just makes us even more of a laughing stock.

It's clear this administration only cares about collecting ACC revenue, not winning or even competing in the modern CFB landscape.

Look, it was a dumb rumor to believe in the first place. If a decision had been made to fire Al Golden, or if he was working out an exit with Miami, the first people privy to that info are not going to be the same people who have a pulse on recruiting. It would be someone who works in the General Counsel's office or President's office.

By time this info actually trickled down to football staffers, it would have been out there and confirmed by major media sources. I don't blame Geo305 for reporting it and I hope he continues to report what he hears, but the amount of people that actually believed this would happen when there were no other good sources reporting this was astounding. And now people are going to get mad?
 
It's funny. Somebody earlier in this thread mentioned that Golden seemed different after the FSU loss last year and the more I think about it, the more correct I think that is. I think he got in over his head and had a convenient excuse in the NCAA. I think he's just riding out time now. That would also explain why he's resisting staff changes. He doesn't think it's their fault.

Basically, that means we can't expect anything positive for next year from Golden.

The Stavridis/Butch Davis thing would certainly be sweet though.
