Golden's nowhere to be seen - ummm he is enjoying xmas and new years in Breckenridge or Banff or the Catskills, who knows
Everyone that is tied to the program in any real way has said AG returns as coach next year.
Every major, true journalistic (ok most in South Florida are s-hi-t-e) source has said all they are hearing is that AG is returning.
Evey piece of information that has started this silliness has come from some pseudo-internet-wannabe blogger/message board personality/friend of an uncle who pitched a baseball game on Wednesday night sometime in the 1993 somewhere in Coral Gables/posters and people so embittered by the state of the program that if the corn in their ***** is whole it must mean Al is going/complete mental incompetents stating opinions that have no basis in any reality.
Al Golden is returning, the BOT have given no indication if they are disappointed, mildly uncaring, or completely fine with the direction of football program, a new president is coming in next year, UM's season was over more than a week ago, academic performance of the football team is at an all time high.
Do not fall for the sorcery, do not believe the crapola, the majority of fans want AG gone, he very well may be gone next year without dramatic improvement. However, there has been not one shred of concrete, real evidence, piece of information, or even indication that AG is cleaning out his desk. Are there likely staff negotiations, very possibly so. Is AG going to be fired, or step down a week after Xmas, multiple years left on his contract, a new president coming aboard in a few months, because some disgruntled parent and a few flippant teenagers tweeted that they are not coming anymore? Please. Multimillionaire stewards of the University of Miami's direction do not care about loud mommies of oft-injured tailbacks, high schoolers that have never been laid, been to war, passed a bar exam, or replaced a kidney on an operating table, and certainly not of an inflammatory, largely cretinous fan base that may or may not have even gone to college, let alone the one they espouse as their U.
Please listen to the smarter posters on this board, many have already told you that nothing will happen THIS YEAR. Change is afoot but it is being carried out by intelligent people who do not engage in public stonings of flawed football coaches. Committees will be organized, searches will be conducted, telephone calls will be made, all in due time. Miami has been average for over a decade, another year of 6,7,or 8 wins ill not bother anyone that matters.
And please get a grip with the 65 year old Butch Davis who left in infamy returning on white horse to fence off the state of Miami. Honestly, and I know much more than you can imagine on the singular, PARTICULAR point.....Butch Davis will never coach at the University of Miami again. He is not, and will not be considered. Anyone that brings up Butch Davis seriously (beyond that you like him) is a moron and completely out of touch with the powers-that-be. Enjoy the Under Armor game this evening, enjoy the National Championship game in a few days, enjoy the possible ascendance of Kaaya, enjoy the Spring Game, enjoy a decent-ish season, reconvene in this thread in 353 days and then, and only then, will you have something of substance to talk about. Until then, go have a tug, or a glass of Brunello, but stop hoping for something that is NOT even being discussed at the present time.
I agree that nothing will happen.
I disagree with the insinuation that the "multimillionaire stewards," aka university leadership, has any clue whatsoever what they're doing, or has any sort of track record of successful decision making that should inspire any sort of trust whatsoever with the general public.
Look no further than the hires of Coker, Shannon, and Golden for proof. To whom should we attribute these colossal goofups if not to these "multimillionaire stewards" you seem to regard so highly? LOL please. These clowns are incompetent, have proven their incompetence time and again, and many of us don't mind saying so.
While they **** around for 353 days forming committees or whatever other nonsense you say they are doing, we will lose an entire year of recruiting, making it that much more unlikely we ever catch up to our instate rivals on the field.
These stewards of the university..... they are 100% to blame for the situation they are in. If they want to cry about the negativity and press surrounding them at present, they should know that they brought it on themselves via their negligence and incompetence.
So to anyone who wants to put up billboards embarrassing the university, or to anyone who wants to boycott the businesses owned by the board of trustees.... I say bravo. Count me in.
Hit these ******** and keep on hitting them. I promise you, they feel it.
Well you make a few good points. You also let your emotional fragility get in the way - this is something most people have trouble with. Of course they have royally screwed the pooch with the football program for almost 15 years now. However, in almost every other aspect that "stewards of the university" are responsible for - they have, of course, performed exceedingly well. It is an exciting time to be a part of the University of Miami. Fund raising is sky high, academic prestige continues to grow, scientific and medical achievements are unparalleled in the university's history. The campus looks great. There is a palpable buzz in the business school that just reaks of postive energy. The Latin American studies department is doing some historic work on insurgent and guerrilla movements in the Southern Hemispheric cone. Exciting , exciting times for the UM community - and I think the administration, the BOT, the student body, the intellectual community, and others have done a fantastic job. If you were a student at UM and were able to complete your degree, you know that most of what you say is indolent and languid and lacks perspicaciousness. In fact, anyone who argues that that UM's stewards "do not know what they are doing" are "incompetent" and "have lost trust of the general public" , and uses something as trivial as the befuddling of the footbally program as their own reference point, is, for all intents and purposes, completely unable to look at the University as an academic institution objectively, and perhaps more likely, simply does not understand what a university is and really should not be allowed anywhere near one except to trim the grass.
Oh look, another pompous **** telling other alums where their priorities need to be. Doing real well with controlling costs and managing our debt in regards to the med school. Exciting times indeed! Nothing like financing big buildings with money you can't repay, then hiring a bunch of employees to fill those positions at a place you can't already pay for by offering lucrative, unfeasible pensions and benefit packages. Exciting times indeed! The biggest revenue grosser by a mile is struggling to stay solvent, which is impacting the school's credit rating, cash reserves and tuition costs. Exciting time indeed!

About a year or so ago, the University did an employment culture consultation with the folks that run Disney. They brought in HR people to conduct a lengthy review of the workplace culture at UM. Needless to say the results were bad for Shalala and the brass. Upper management was hammered on cronyism, inefficiency, wasteful spending, incompetence and just about everything else you could imagine. Quite a bit was directed at Pasqual Goldschmidt, who was Donna's hand picked stooge to run the Med School campus. That was the beginning of her end. The bleeding of money, bad decisions, theft and corruption were rampant and the employees let it be known. In April, the findings were made know to UM and the BOT's and that was when the ball started rolling. She was now on thin ice and it didn't help with Norman Braman going public in the Herald with some damning accusations as well.

Literally nothing has happened and nothing is going too. Foldens back next year, the staff is intact, minus Coley who I think ends up bouncing for a real program, and we're in for a disaster. The idiots running this program don't realize and want to belittle the fans, blame the players, use the NCAA as a crutch, and beg for money like the spineless ****s they are. This is a joke of a program run by a bunch of ***gots.

Ok, I was kind of skeptical at first, but we've got legit insiders commenting on
this now and saying it's got legs.
Corn Breath
Bean Bag
and now Street Agent
We're the only program in college football whose insiders sound like a bunch of ****ing teletubbies.
Stare down...admin wants him gone but doesn't want to pay the buyout, Golden wants to go but wants full buyout. Admin makes it clear he's they are not going to fire him so he approaches them to get out of contract...while Golden continues to suck and **** off admin by not letting any coaches go, in an attempt to force their hand and fire him.....
Personally, I think the admin underestimated the negativity and vitriol out in the community and will end up giving in. I just don't see a scenario where he's coaching this team in 9 months. Everyone knows he doesn't want to be here.
I think you're underestimating how much the admin seriously doesn't give a **** about any of us or our opinions, regardless of ticket sale, alumni status, or how much we donate.
Football is not a priority. Al's kids aren't getting in trouble, so he's fine.
I think you're underestimating the PR **** storm that the administration will experience if they keep him. Yes, they're not the smartest bunch, but at the same time they're all about $$. If they keep him, sure they'll save a few, but ultimately they'll lose three times the amount should he stay on another year with the backlash the program will face and how far back they'll be set.
Not saying I think Golden is gone on Monday (certainly hope so), but you need to realize that this administration is paying attention to the amount of noise we've been making, and that it will ONLY get worse once he stay. Kids decommitting, a coach that doesn't want to be there, fans that won't be in the stands, absolute **** ticket sales...add all of that up and you're in a mess of trouble that will last a lot longer than just one season.

Allegedly.
@ByTimReynolds: So I'm temporarily lifting my Miami football Twitter embargo for this. I'm going inside every number I can find and am more confused now.
saw that as well. Just posted our defensive stats from this past year.
the fact that he JUST NOW decided to look OBJECTIVELY at our numbers just shows how inept and clueless that fat slob is.
I predict he will be the first person to die from suffocating on his own cholesterol sludge backing up in his throat

Exactly who in the **** are you?
You don't know siht just like no one else knows siht. Of course the party line is that Golden is going to be here - what else do you expect them to say? Randy was staying too. Right up until he got his *** fired.
No, publicly, the BOT hasn't announced any displeasure - again - what do you expect? They have a fiduciary responsibility to not talk UM business prematurely. Ask Randy and Coker about that.
And as far as the BOT not caring about football or a player's mom - UM has a lot to lose in a really, really bad publicity nightmare that is Golden. The entire county doesn't hear siht about UM, about UMHealth. The entire nation can't tell you much about UM because they're not exposed to UM.
But everyone in the country is exposed to the UM football program. The toothpaste is outta the tube, and it's not going back in. Everyone hears about UM, as UM in the past was every top program's nightmare. The ongoing, and upcoming sihtstorm of negative publicity against Golden is not going away, and every person in the nation will be wondering "What's the problem with the jokers who run the program at Miami? Are they really that stupid?"
We're sitting on a gold mine of talent - everyone in the nation knows that. Everyone knows that any good coach - similar to Butch - can fire up again and start running the table. That's why everyone comes here to recruit. That's why everyone is holding their breath on our coaching situation. Someone like Butch comes back, and FSU, UF, Alabama, OSU, and others have a real problem. The money, the talent, the credibility, and the availability of a coach will be what determines who we get. And Butch Davis fits all criteria.
So you're full of doo-doo if you think Butch can't come back. That's how I know that you're in the dark. Pitch black.
Guess we'll all just have to wait and see, huh?
No we will not have "wait and see" as you so eloquently put it. You are akin to the lower-capacity caveman who first sat too close to the fire and grunted about "waiting and seeing" what will happen as your grotesque buttocks hair began to singe and burn off. Of course, the more mentally adroit cavemen had already made the decision to move further from the flame because the heat seemed deleterious to their overall constitution. However, those, such as yourself, who need to "wait and see" because they are limited, proceeded to have 3rd degree burns to your hindquarters. This, of course, could have been avoided if you had not "waited and seen" but instead utilized your cognitive ability to discern that intense heat applied to your buttocks would not be a good thing...especially as it would prevent you from engaging in the penetrative congress of the rear buttocks with other cavemen, that I have been assured by other posters, that you most certainly enjoy and covet.
