I'm all for Golden going. But don't say it can't get any worse! Coker then Shannon who was worse. Then came Golden who did some positive things but now feels "worser" than Shannon bc he has superior talent to Shannon with no better results. Can we bring someone in that can both coach and recruit that has a CEO mentality?

lol Golden is worse by a mile. Our reputation is far worse now than it was with Coker and Shannon. Shannon/Golden records are the same but Golden cant win a single big game...at least Shannon did.
 
If butch is hired the possibilities for coordinators willing tocome in and be apart of bringing the U back is endless. It would be a national hot topic, its truely whats best for business. This would be epic from every angle.

He's saying Golden is worse than Shannon which would have seemed impossible 4 years ago. That's the point -- if they actually do fire Golden they can't mess up again and hire someone like Cristobal because he might actually be as bad or worse than Golden.

too much silence coming from both sides. I still think there is a behind the scenes negotiated settlement going on. Both sides realize this isn't a good fit and I can't see Golden holding out only to be fired. He would end up like Shannon or Pelini, being a low tier head coach or position coach for many years to come.
 
The only reason I can think this would happen now is that when they went over his contract it didnt specify that 2015 season was the start just 2015. If that is the case it would reduce the buyout since the year changed. I still find this hard to believe but at this point I am about anything having his *** gone.

I haven't been around. But I will assume based on the responses that he wants back in. Did he get any penalties due to Unc academic/recruiting issues? Would he be able to come in with a clean slate in other words? That is a concern I have. If he is all good from NCAA then cool. Otherwise I think we should go elsewhere.

Something has to give. People at UM need to step the **** up and fire this guy. Its program suicide at this point to keep him another year. Recruiting is a disaster and I can only imagine the lack of effort current players will give in the off season.

Butch has been openly campaigning for the job and has said that he has a letter from the NCAA exonerating him from the UNC scandal

He has 2 letters saying he is clear. He has lobbied for the jobe via Miami Hearald, went on the Joe Rose show on a Monday morning when Fat Albert didnt show and blasted him. He was at the U part 2 release, and everyone chanted bring back Butch. Dude wants it bad
